Veteran British actress Dora Bryan died today aged 91, she was a talented lady with a varied career spanning theatre, film, tv and radio.

Great shame and a fine actress. Quite exceptional in her middle years she was never off the telly. Reminded me of Irene Handle with her unique turn of wit which we have not seen the likes again. She will be sadly missed by many fortunate enough to see her performing.

Her husband was a semi-pro cricketer who played for Walsall Wood CC. My father said she was just as bright and bubbley in real life as she was on stage or screen.
