How did that happen? She made some right howlers most weeks. Shouldn't have even been in the final nevermind won. Recount!

There's a suprise.

Based on the final then she should have won.

Based on the series, no.

One thing that bake off ( and masterchef) seem to suffer from is only judging these shows on their last dish.
The overall best never gets judged IMO. Disappointed with that result.

They've always based Bake Off on the final and no other preceding weeks, whether you agree with that is a different matter. Richard was the clear winner for me based on all previous weeks but she did win the final.

Richard and Luis had been much better through out the series.

In fairness they did say that all three deserved to be there so the result was purely going to based on the final.

I wouldn't have minded any of them winning, all were decent folks and skilled bakers. Richard did drop off a bit in the final, not up to his usual standard, and Louie just made a few too many mistakes.

I think Nancy probably was the right choice based purely on the final bakes. Her Tarte au citron looked great.

Well if Dick baked better in the final he would have won, but he didn't.

Well the eventual winner was star baker in week 1, so that might have been a clue.

Final was the right result. Seemed to me Richard gave up after the first bake and just got a bit slapdash.

To be fair burning your fingers with hot caramel in an emergency repair is dedication worthy of a win.

Now Jo Brand. Just get a new comedy line. Oh I'm so fat. Men are useless. Mmmm cake. Crude one liner. Reiterate.

All that twaddle about dusting the tart au citron was simply to take the mick out of Norman, and then a gag about a ball bag.

Ffs even Marcus Brigstocke is funnier, and he is the tttiest ttty tt from that district in Shorpe.

did anyone see the masterclass last nihgt?

there was a brilliant TV moment where MB is rolloing dough and says she likes her rolling pins without knobs on the end and another entendre follows and PHs face is pricelesss - its about 15 mintues in iirc - absolutely classic look from PH.

Yup. I noticed that too - a sort of smirk combined with repressed laughter. He had to look away. Poor Mary - I reckon you would have had to explain it to her. Bless.

I think she's in on the joke. I'm sure there have been similar things between them in the past. If you get my drift.
