Love both films equally.
I understand what people are saying about the first being more "gritty", but i think that was due to the lower budget than that of T2.
I will also, without fail, watch them when either is on, whatever time of the night.
Im not even sure how many times i have seen them now, plus i also get the 'tut' from the wife when i see it on the planner.
E4 9pm tonight I understand what people are saying about the first being more "gritty", but i think that was due to the lower budget than that of T2.

T1 & T2 are two different film experiences, like Alien & Aliens.
T1 is dark sci-fi thriller; David Cameron envisaged it as 'tech noir' (which became the name of the bar/discotheque) or film noir and sci-fi film. T2 is more action more like a rollercoaster ride; I remember Sigourney Weaver describe Alien like a haunted house ride and Aliens was more like a rollercoaster ride.

A good read. I am sure I have heard it all before though. I think its on some special features disc that came with a T1/T2 box set I have.
T1 is the winner for me though. Its beautifully shot and it all just sits right. Everything is right.

Good find and thanks for posting.
T1 will forever be one of my top ten films. T2 is very different for me though as the release, the GnR theme song and everything about that summer were almost intrinsically interwoven in one of the most important years of my life .
T3, etc are okay but just 'another film' for me. T1 & T2 are part of my history.

This sentence makes complete sense. It was my first summer after passing my driving test Exactly thirty years ago this Sunday 26 October the original Terminator film was released in the USA.
Thought I would update this thread with a link to a 'Making of' documentary I found and have never seen before.
Enjoy.

The Terminator is one of my favourite ever films. I'll watch it whenever it's on TV. It's such an understated film compared with the sequels but a much more compelling watch in my opinion.
Same here. I remember seeing the 'coming soon' posters lining the entrance corridor of my local cinema.. buying all the 'stills' with my paper-round money.. being DESPERATE to see it but being too young to get in. Eventually I managed a private cinema viewing thanks to a mate's dad knowing the cinema manager.

Thanks for that - never seen that either. Funny about the acid and the 'window punch' scene Thought I would update this thread with a link to a 'Making of' documentary I found and have never seen before.
Enjoy.
