Cancelling a SKY TV subscription

I phoned them yesterday to cancel, when they asked why i said it was not worth the 800 quid a year and the service forever drops out along with the tv box not working/recording etc they said they could sort out a new box and they would also knock off £15pm, only after asking a few more questions did i find out that the new box would cost me £200 and that the £15pm would mean i have to start a new 12 month contract and the offer only lasts for 10.... then they started on trying to sell me the sports channels, for some reason they could not understand that I didn't like sport and don't wan the offer.

in all it took about an hour to cancel but its done now. I have just bought one of these which has everything i need on it and as its not live tv you can also cancel your tv license

Going back to a single HD box, with just variety and HD packs to bring the skyrocketing price down a bit.

My new Android TV box will help fill some of the gaps if need be

I would be interested on your views on the Android box as Im thinking along the same lines you've gone
