Great episode I'd have half those cars in my dream garage or just that 911turbo and the 205gti would do!
There's a build thread in this forum on that 205gti.
Where is it folks? Can't seem to find it

Didnt ford do a car with something like this on the back: ford granada scorpio v6 2.8i 24v
Think it was Ford Granada Scorpio 2.8i 4x4
The Scorpio was the 2.9, and I seem to remember the Cosworth just said Scorpio Cosworth 24V. Not sure the early ones even said Cosworth.
There was of course the Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth 4x4, but again that never got the full boot lid treatment or it would have had to have been 19ft wide.

There was certainly a Ford Granada Ghia X Executive, and a Granada 2.8 injection (spelled out in full) so logically there was a Ford Granada 2.8 injection Ghia X Executive, but I have never seen one in the flesh.

Glad to see the XR4x4 hoofed it away from the Cavalier hehe The Sierra was a bit, erm, messed around with to say the least, I had feared they were going to explode them both at the end of the programme, which would have been a shame as I need those leather seats for mine!

The Capri was pretty tatty (rusty bonnet lip, terrible Webasto roof) and feared that was going to be destroyed in some "amusing" way.

I rather enjoyed the programme, expecting it to be not at all serious, since, apart from Man Lab, James can't escape TG.

The badge snobbery was funny. I sent a quick message to my brother about that as, when I was 17, I got on very well with our fleet manager when I was working as a junior office bod in a life assurance company. He had 4 unused Cavalier SRi 130 in the car park and asked me which colour I wanted. Well, the red one of course!!
There I was, 17, just passed my test, and driving a brand new SRi 130. driving

My brother, who was then 21 and selling copiers, had a 2.0 GL Sierra estate! hehe

Is that the one where a guy had a diesel Maestro as a company car and was stuck behind trucks doing 60 all day long?

Thanks for the link - best exploration of UK company car thinking from the horses mouth.

Thought this episode of CotP was padded out and too formulaic. Also why so late? Shirley it's made/aimed at the pre-watershed market?

Early '85 Mk3 Granada only had the 2.8, and the Scorpio was the range topping model (mostly trim spec) the 24V model wasn't introduced until the early 90's with a mild facelift.

There sure is wink

She has also graced a couple of Sunday Services too....I really need to start driving her more, she does more miles being transported about by Peugeot UK/BBC than me driving her this year!
I was surprised to see it being given the beans on track - I thought she just got rolled in and out of a trailer these days? tongue out

I had a Scorpio 2.9i 4x4. Nice car, but handled like a supertanker and drank like Olly Reid!

Did he gesticulate and say 'engine in the back' while driving the Bond Bug????
Confusion with the Bond 875 that had a Hillman Imp (van spec) engine in the rear?

That was a truly scary 3-wheeler (although perhaps the weight distribution made it less likely to roll?).

Yep, and him and his missus sat on the sofa and literally cried when he got it, as he had previously had a Cavalier GLS 2.0i

I think all 3 of the TG presenters are great but are better on their own. Clarkson and May have certainly been involved in some of the more entertaining bits of boys own TV that appeals to the enthusiast.

The gifted always have their knockers and it tends to be they who are the real tits.

I am looking forward to this latest piece with May in it.
What has Clarkson done on his own? The only thing that springs to mind at the moment was something to do with the Victoria Cross and a couple of appearances on QI and Have I Got News For You...

I feel a Monty Python sketch coming on.

What has Clarkson ever done on his own?

Well, there was Clarkson's Motorworld
And Jeremy Clarkson's Car Years
And Jeremy Clarkson's Speed
And Jeremy Clarkson Meets the Neighbours
And all those car videos he did that most dads got for Christmas presents for years.
And that thing on Isambard Kingdom Brunel he did.
And that chat show he did.
And the series "Inventions That Changed the World"
And that "Who do you think you are?" episode where he found out his ancestors owned Kilner Jars.
And presenting the first series of Robot Wars.

But *apart* from all those, what has Clarkson ever done on his own?

wink
