Funnily enough one of my friends from back then and I were talking about the program yesterday. We remembered the Celica and the novelty of the 5-speed box. He too remembers the steering being quite vague on a bumpy A-road. Could well have been the car I guess - it certainly wasn't in the same condition as the one Mr May was in. They were pretty cheap in the mid 80s but a decade old nearly. He had a Dolly Sprint as well and we had some good memories of that
