Bob Hoskins, Long good Friday, "The mafia? I've st 'em."

Especially the last few minutes of the car journey when he realises the IRA have got him. See all the emotions going through his mind.

Not sure how much of this is down to the performance or the production of the film but agree it is brilliant none the less.

Robert Helpmann's performance as the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was pretty damn scary.
Agreed. Far too menacing for a film like that I always thought. It scared the living whatnot out of me as a kid and my 2 lads would watch from behind their fingers when they were little.

There was an English actor called Colin Jeavons who looked very similar. Even today, if something comes on with him in it, it makes me shudder.

This far in and no mention of Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men or Billy Bob Thornton in TV Fargo?. yikes

RB in Utopia. First series very scary but they've made him too cuddly now.

Jean Reno as Victor in the first Nikita. "This one's not dead,"

Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects.

I was going to suggest Gary Oldman in Leon, but that has already been taken. I was then going to suggest Christopher Walken as Don Vincenzo Coccotti in True Romance - in particular the bit where he is talking to Dennis Hopper. All those performances, as good as they are, pale into insignificance when I think of the horror that is.......

Jon Pertwee as Worzel Gummidge. He has a shed with interchangeable fking heads for crying out loud - what happens if he takes his head off then falls backwards out of the shed before putting his new head on. Also, whoever thought a TV programme where the main character had a shelf full of talking heads wouldn't scare the st out of a 7-year old (me) is clearly mad. It chilled me to the bone in 1980 and still makes my hairs on my arms stand up now.

Tom Hardy in The Take.

If you haven't heard of it check it out, one of the best British drama series made IMO. And Tom Hardy played a sociopath terrifyingly easily.

Robert De Niro's Johnny Boy in Mean Streets. A street punk who owes money to the mob but would rather press the self-destruct button.

Joe Pesci in Goodfellas: "am I a clown? do I amuse you?"

Couple from TV, there's a lot of amazing talent there these days.

Obvious shout out for the Game of Thrones fans:

Peter Dinklage & Charles Dance

Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad

Claire Danes in Homeland (can't think of a particular scene, but she's damn great throughout).

O-Ren Ishii

So you all will know the seriousness of my warning, I shall say this in English.
As your leader, I encourage you from time to time, and always in a respectful manner, to question my logic. If you're unconvinced that a particular plan of action I've decided is the wisest, tell me so, but allow me to convince you and I promise you right here and now, no subject will ever be taboo. Except, of course, the subject that was just under discussion. The price you pay for bringing up either my Chinese or American heritage as a negative is... I collect your fking head. Just like this fker here. Now, if any of you sons of bhes got anything else to say, now's the fking time!

[calmly, in Japanese] Gentlemen, this meeting is adjourned.
