I saw something last year about it on Sky... but I guess it'll be just like Breaking Bad... Netflix first, then Sky.
Breaking Bad has never been on a Sky channel. The first season was on Fox and the second on 5USA, and the rest only on Netflix, much later.

My mistake, I thought all HBO stuff was on Sky Atlantic... just watched too many box sets!

It's AMC.

HBO turned down Breaking Bad. The woman Gilligan pitched to had the following expression at the end, didn't even bother to get make the effort of saying no, instead just didn't take his calls afterwards...

Perhaps it's just me but I found Breaking Bad unwatchable and Better Call Saul was incredibly slow.... Very poor imo.

I will be watching the episode this evening, but I feel the creators are just cashing on their success with Breaking Bad...

But, it is no secret that Breaking Bad was hugely popular - I just couldn't see why.

They are behind us (in timezones). It hasn't aired yet.

have you watched it or not ?? incredibly slow ?? you must have a very short attention span! - it has something called a story that needs setting out...

Most popular TV series, most awards. Highest IMDB score- I think most of us got it. Horses for courses though. Whatever turns you on.

I don't think so. Today is Monday, the second episode will air tonight in the US and be on UK Netflix tomorrow from 7am.

You clearly haven't read up on the creator behind both hehe. Vince comes across as a guy with lot of integrity, is the down to earth serious type rather than cash driven. He saw potential in the Saul character story which is the only reason for the new series.

If he wanted to cash in he could make a huge pile of money by easier means e.g. A BB movie would net him multi-millions.

With regards to BB, fair enough you didn't like it- did you see it through or stop? takes a lot of patience before it pays off.

Will be same with BCS, the writers tend to write an story arc across one series. So often they imagine the ending and then work up to it, if they need to develop the characters through the most dull episodes to get there then he will do it regardless of it not being the popular option.

Only thing in the way of BCS being good is that BB had a talented team of writers, and only two of them are now working on BCS, rather than all.

I keep hearing this in relation to Breaking Bad and I just don"t understand it.

It feels like a lot of the fans of BB are only into it because someone recommended going against their instincts to switch over, i.e. give it patience etc.

I found BB to be too slow to be engaging - I know that splits opinion but I struggled to find it in anyway entertaining.

I feel that BB is very similar to a Coen Brothers film - some love them and think they are the best thing yet. Others don't see where or what the appeal is.

I will be watching the new episode tonight - the series seems to have an enormous following and I want to like the show to understand why it is so popular.

To be honest I felt the same. Before I watched it I thought it would be another over rated American import.

I then had a week off work and thought - fk it! I'll see what the fuss it all about.

I never made it outside that week! All 5 series done. Yes it has its slow bits and can take a while but stick with it and you'll see why it's so acclaimed. Genuinely one of the best shows of recent times.

Better Call Saul has got off to a very promising start. Enjoyed that a lot and loved the nods to BB.

I found some of BB incredibly dull, especially the early episodes. But something kept me hooked into it and it rewards you sticking it out and overall had a very satisfying end.

I enjoyed BCS tonight, lots of threads started and it feels more comedic than BB.

With BB. A good measure is probably the 1st episode as it was a pilot show. If you like that then stick with it. (I came across BB end of 1st series so wasnt a hype thing with me as not many people knew of it till a few years later).

Regards to Coen brothers, don't like their normal stuff like Inside Lewellyn Davies but loved No Country For Old Men.

Just finished watching episode 2....

Much, much more engaging than the pilot and much more dialogue which is good imo.

However - on face value I don't feel compelled to watch 3, but I'll hang in there due to the overwhelming support this series has, even in its infancy.
