Indeed the scores a mockery she was better than SW.

I think they deliberately mark Pixie and Frankie harder because of their experience

Was it just me or was there a little bit of gender reversal in some of the moves in Frankie & Kevin's dance?

I liked that.

I thought Caroline and Pasha went wrong. Lucky for them the judges didn't notice.

Oh! I thought that was going to be a 'tap on the shoulder' knockout.

Not a surprise to see the male celebs at the bottom of the Waltzathon. Well done to Simon doing better than Pasha!

Same here.
90 seconds seems a very short time to do the dances, although some seem longer than that.
Doesn't look as though they are going to do 2 dances this series unless this week was it with everyone doing the waltz.

Yeah, it was a real damp squib. I felt quite let down.

I don't think anyone is safe right now. Simon could have been at risk but his dances suited him this week. I really don't know who will be in the dance off tomorrow (or, rather, was today. But we have to pretend).

By contrast, Pixie's dance didn't do a lot for me. The judges seemed to like it though so what do I know.
I agree , i never really saw why the judges thought this was so good, Really warming to Caroline & her dance last night was terrific, wonderful pins & great bouncing technique up the stairs.

I rather liked Mark's one too

I do think that this has to be one of the better series that there is not one nailed on favourite & it could be won by all the dancers still left in.

I love how Pasha (sp?) worked losing his fezz into the routine and kicked it away on the beat too. What a pro.

I am a weeke behind, but yes it was good. What I also thought was professional was before he did this he faced the judges and grabbed his head for a hat in alarm to acknowledge it had gone awry, see 42 seconds. Further to this he didn't look down to see where it was when he back healed it, he just knew. Real class.

Caroline is now my favorite, she might not always be as technical as say Pixie, but she is putting more flirty characterisations in to her routine, where as Pixie lacks a bit of warmth on occasions.

My hope is for:

Simon, Frankie, Pixie, Caroline

Simon to go first and Caroline for the win.

I agree, Caroline brings a dimension to her dance that Pixie can't (and nor can Frankie, who was my early favourite).

Watching last night Frankie seems to be going through the motions without putting any emotion in. I think she struggles to keep up with Kevin and he's carrying her at the moment. The others looked stronger and as though they're genuinely enjoying it more.

The waltzathon was rubbish though. After all that build up you didn't see anything or learn anything - it was very difficult to guage who was ahead of who with the camera whizzing in and out and changing couples every two seconds. Seems to me the judges already want Pixie to win and used last night as an opportunity to take her down a peg or two with low marks for the individual dance yet put her back up there in the waltz to make sure she missed the dance off - her last couple of dances haven't excited me the way some of the others have.

I think sadly Mark will go this week, although I'm not sure who he'll be up against. I said originally I thought it'd be Jake, Frankie and Pixie in the final, I'm not so sure now, I think any of the couples could be there, although I'd still like Jake to win it.

Don't you think it was a bit weird though, the judges spent a good 5 minutes criticising Pixie for one little detail, Len said he wouldn't penalise her, took umbridge at Trent's comment and then gave a cr*p score, and they ignored much bigger mistakes made by the guys; Jake and Simon both fluffed lifts and Simon had it easy with two weeks of ballroom.
It's almost as if it is a stage-managed entertainment show rather than a dance competition, isn't it. wink

Seriously though, I agree that some consistency would be nice. If only to maintain the illusion. Quite how Craig was able to award only a 9 for Caroline and as much as a 9 for Pixie is beyond me. Unless one was 9.9 and other 9.1, and he always rounds down. smile

Best to stay away from social media for today folks. People are tweeting about a "shock exit" and how tonight's Results Show is "not to be missed". I do not want to know the result (and fortunately haven't) so I'm going into lock-down.

Just more reason why having the Results Show on Sunday evening and not live later on Saturday is a crap idea.

Amazing how they seem to take turns having a bad week...

Got in late last night and sort of watched it in the middle of the night. Nothing really stood out as a smash-hit.

Will be interesting tonight.

I saw a spoiler earlier through a friend of a friend so it's a bit gutting. I normally am very careful to avoid them but this was one of those friend of a friend comments that Facebook helpfully shows you!

Although Mark is good, anyone other than him would be a "shock". Whoever goes "tonight" could have won it, given a fair wind. All the chaff has gone and we're now throwing away wheat that is good enough to bake the bread for the lord's table.
