James Bond and bond girl are scooped into sky via a rope attached to a balloon, which is then 'collected' by an aeroplane. They are being dragged behind at 200 mph.

How do they got down without being killed?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fulton_surface-to-air...

That's actually one of the more "realistic" parts of the film.

I liked this part...

"Fulton first used instrumented dummies as he prepared for a live pickup. He next used a pig, as pigs have nervous systems close to humans. Lifted off the ground, the pig began to spin as it flew through the air at 125 mph (200 km/h). It arrived on board uninjured but in a disoriented state. Once it recovered, it attacked the crew."

I'm not at all surprised, and a pissed off pig wouldn't be a good thing in an aircraft.

I thought it was going to go "once they landed the crew ate it".

I thought they called that the skyhook, or maybe that was a prototype. Ah yes see it in that wiki.

Yep not unrealistic other than lack of harnesses, or did they have that in Thunderball?

Yes indeed it is. They moved on to use C130's later smile
