Those baddies cannot shoot straight it appears

Exactly what I said to my Mrs earlier. I'll give it another look though.

As a series it at least was well enough put together that I kept watching (or at least skipped through) all the episodes.

A lot of it felt like a recruiting film for the US Navy, which I guess it was in exchange for the equipment. At least it saved on CGI.

The problem is that the original book was a blatant rip-off of On the Beach, so they went with the whole plague thing. This was interesting enough but the story couldn't exactly stretch very far.

In some ways I like the way it ended up going at in the finale - at least they were off the ship! - but it makes it just another post-apocalyptic story and there's enough of those around. On the plus side it will still be better than Z Nation.

If you're not fully up to date, why would you possibly go and click on threads that are almost certainly going to contain spoilers?

A huge amount of people are watching these programs as soon as they go live in USA. If you're lagging, avoid the online chatter until you've seen it...

And I would wager more people in the UK (where this site is mainly aimed at) would be watching it on UK tv.

Stop being an arse

A huge amount of PHers are based in UK and watch it on UK TV
And like most of the threads in this section people debate new programmes and new episodes as they are broadcast ON UK TV
And that is why the spoiler feature is there

There is a decent remke of On the Beach with Armand Assante based in Australia with a US sub after the nukes were fired in a war.

Basically world is hooped it just hasn't reached Oz yet.

Watched it with my old man about 6 years ago...bleak as fk and one scene with cyanide and a family....oof, that was difficult, not gory in any way just the thought of it.

The original with Carey Grant is very good too.

Well episode 2 was a little better but not much, another ship pretends to be British but turns out to be Russian when the captain has a closer look through his binoculars

I suspect I might cut my losses on this soon, way too American, way too cheesy

And you know what, after the first few episodes it proceeds to actually get worse. Its one of the few shows that I've deleted from the media center at home ...

(far more interesting than the programme)

are these radar guided? I thought they were marketed as being able to shoot down incoming missiles - is that realisitc or BS?

Not Bullst. They are pretty good against most air targets upto a certain speed. They have their own on board radar etc. They are fully automated, so track, threat assess (multiple targets) and kill without any inputs from the ship or crew (other than turning them "on").

They are your last line of defence though.

The are a fantastic bit of kit, and it's an amazing experience to be stood next to one when it fires. 4500 rounds per minute is very noisy.

Did anyone stick with this to the end? I did, it's one of the funniest shows I've seen, my particular high light was when they turned the ship into a sail boat with the 3 parachutes.

It's like a big fk you to everything you learned in school

The ship would start to move, much like it did though? not very fast I'll admit but it would move?

Are you answering the question or merely re-asking it? Why all the question marks?
