Just wondering when all the bull$hyte will start again on TV......

It seems to be working towards the point, over the past few years, when people have got their summer holidays out of the way.

xmas adverts ... hate them with a passion!

Its either ...

here's some fecking ussless tat coloured in red and white with sparkly craap stuck on it...buy it because its xmas in a few months.

or its either....

great offer; buy this inflated product(s) at 180% of its original price, but wait, you can buy it for a 'discount' at 140% of its original price because its xmas in a few months.

grrrrr

We should start a poll.

My bet is it will be a DFS ad for new sofas in before christmas.

Maybe they'll be no mistletoe and wine being played to death in every shop this year.

I wonder - if we looked at the date these "christmas starts earlier every year" type threads get posted - would we find that they actually get posted earlier every year - or that it's about the same.

I always find these type of threads appearing around the last week in August. Seems fairly consistent to me biggrin

Christmas is miles off - we still have to get through the inevitable "should the clocks go forward/backwards" and "should fireworks be banned" threads wink

I personally hate talking about Christmas till after Halloween! Or about a month before not 3-4 months before!!

Speaking of which, S*** Factor starts on Saturday folks. I'm afraid, it's always a sign that Christmas is coming....

As a kid in the 80s/90s - the build up to christmas began when the Autumn/Winter Argos catalogue came out biggrin

But i'd agree - it only feels like the run up to Christmas after bonfire night has passed. Once the garden centres get their christmas decorations out - it's game on.

Walked past a shop today that had a big Christmas banner up.

Thought about going in and asking them to take it down on the grounds of utter stupidity

I'm going with John Lewis. No doubt they've got some schmaltzy tear jerker all lined up and ready to go already.

This is one thing that the traditional Catholics have right - 12th night .... christmas starts 11 days before 25th and ends 12 days after (or something like that) .... job done, pack the tree away, go on a diet again, next stop easter.

Bahh humbug ....

I always remember adverts for those Christmas catalogues (the ones for chavs to save up £1 a week so they can afford Christmas even they spend £50 week on booze/fags/drugs/takeaway/sky sports etc)

They used to have the advert for Christmas the next year on before Christmas Day that year.
