The X Factor : 2014

^^ agree completely. Cowell is probably unrivalled in the world at marketing a singer, but what does he know about singing? And as for the other 3 - words fail me. Walsh managed 2 boybands, and the 2 girls were in "manufactured" groups. Not one member of the panel which passes judgement on a voice, and can make or break a young person's life, has a clue about what makes a great singer. It's almost criminal.
The BBC's "The Voice" may be equally dire as a show, but at least Tom Jones knows what he's talking about. He's been a class act for donkey's years.

You have to wonder if anybody out there ACTUALLY watches this show from start to finish, because if there is, they must be one hell of a sucker for punishment.
Me PM me your address and I'll send you a fking recorder for xmas.
You can't go on like that.
fiX-Factor strikes again. Could they have indicated the Fleur favouritism any more obviously?
Interesting though, she obviously has talent and can easily be commercialised, whereas historically the second-place person has done better in the long term, so Ben probably has good longer-term prospects despite them having decided he's not going to win.
Interesting comment about TT!

There is absolutely nothing special about Fleur's voice. There are backing-singers and caberet artists with better singing talents than her. She just happens to be in the right place at the right time. She leaves me cold.
Lauren Platt was the only one worth listening to. Yes, Andrea had the best voice, but I don't see a market for him, and if Ben wins I think he'll have his No.1 and do a Steve Brookstein - disappear.

Was going to watch but turned over in favour of SPOTY. Can't help but think that the whole Mel B being ill and in a High Dependency Unit doesn't sit right with her remarkable come back tonight.
As I alluded earlier, IMO it's as fixed as fixy thing which has been fixed using Thixofix. It's all a complete charade. MrsC and I speculated that the urgent hospital appt, given that MB was apparently in rehearsals all week and in fine again now, may have been down to a miscarriage (would that lead to a spell in the HDU?). OTOH, perhaps they sidelined her and wheeled the uber-chav out last night just so that MB didn't get any stick over the more capable singer being booted.Hark at me, I couldn't give a toss really Last night's was the only episode I have watched and only then because I haven't been well and I've run out of recorded episodes of WD/CCC/GMG! Honest guv….

We haven't watched since the early weeks but I'm quite surprised Ben won, every time I hear his name Crowded House comes into my mind!
I agree that Fleur will be the real winner here, it'll be more like Ben Whonow? in a years time.
Agree, a natural entertainer, reminded me of Tina Turner when she was up there singing and dancing, she will go far.I agree that Fleur will be the real winner here, it'll be more like Ben Whonow? in a years time.
