They could have done with some "detail" drawings from the architect

Not sure about this one, especially the poly 'glass' walls.

Multicolored bathroom suite is, erm, different. Haven't liked this one all the way through.

How have they spent so much money? The materials are cheap. It's too big that's the problem.

It's a common theme - estimated budget ends up being 60% or less of actual.

Architects and naive clients do not make for realistic budgets.[/quote

I'm surprised how the out of ground element of this couldn't have been realistically budgeted / tendered from the get go. Perhaps they had unrealistic expectations or went to the wrong type of contractors or just didn't like what some of them had to say?

The additional £60k drain cost could never have realistically been predicted.

Architects as we all know have no concept of cost control.

Tell you what... it's a good job it didn't cost a million quid to buy site and build, because that would be truly disgraceful.

Absolutely grade A turd.

ok, i don't hate it, but even considering it's size, £600k for the build IS ridiculous!

Well, I like the interior, layout and space, colours and materials / finishes. Externally, though not to my taste; works well, but seems expensive for the standard of finish.

The outside was nice. The interior was bloody disaster

The nutter lady clearly thought she was so up her own ass to take interior design advice.

The kitchen was nice, the rest was jumble sale assortment dressed up as interior design.

They clearly had no concept of money or how to spend it wisely on a build.

Think they were both set designers on the Harry Potter films.
