As I said, lifting a previously well known pop song and dropping it into a more recent film to me doesn't count.

There are zillions of examples of that.

What is more important is when the film makers commission a new song or theme which becomes famous because

a) the movie becomes famous
or
b) it's a cracking piece of music
or
c) both
