Thank God for Doc Martin's aunt!
As much as it sounded like Stephanie Cole it was in fact Dame Eileen Atkins.Listening to the retiring story bod on R4 this am they are glued to 'soshul meeja' and over the moon if the show is 'trending'. Which explains why they chase that audience.

The jury episode was the first time I'd heard Brexit mentioned on the Archers.
Lesbian barristers, neo-nazi acid attacks, marital rape etc are everyday topics, but not Brexit (it's beyond the pale).
Rob's dad has to come back with some (in)appropriate response soon...
Brexit - Would not want to seem to tip the voters too much. I am sure that it has been mentioned a few times but never as a discussion. Of course the majority would be outers anyway.Lesbian barristers, neo-nazi acid attacks, marital rape etc are everyday topics, but not Brexit (it's beyond the pale).

Anna has always been lesbian I thought? Not exactly uncommon, it's just more gay people are happy to allow their sexuality to be known.
Missing the Neo Nazi Acid from my memory.
Marital rape is actually one of the few topics you have mentioned that i think should have come up in the Archers. Domestic abuse (both by and against men and women) is far more common than most right thinking people believe. Be it mental or physical abuse it must be stamped on hard and whilst i hate the "Eastenderisation" of the Archers i will give then the Helen story, although I do think that picking on poor Helen again was a piss take.
As for Rob and his dad, i think that there is a fair bit of mileage there. How long before Rob's mum turns up on Harrison's front door. I very much see them as being cut fro the same cloth the way he is so controlling and downright nasty. I am looking forward to Rob and his parents getting back what they have given out in spades.
Now the real question is what is going to happen with Rob's bessie mate Susan now that the stupid cow has been proven wrong yet again and after trying to stop Neil giving his reference?

Marital rape and domestic abuse is, I agree, a perfectly legitimate topic and in keeping with rural life as much as it is in urban life.
Lots of mileage to be had from Rob, custody battles, his job working for Justin, veiled threats against Helen and her family, injunctions, and all the usual crap that goes with an abusing controlling low life

Just one example of how things happen in real life.

I'm a little perplexed by the custody battle. Henry is not related to Rob. In any case, if Helen and Jess make complaints to the Police that Rob raped them, he will never get custody.
Rob is legally Henry's father, he adopted him or whatever the process is.Helen should complain to the police but may want to put it all behind her. I can't see Jess making a complaint though

I forget what it was, but it was not adoption.
The in-house solicitor to the FB group I belong to is confident that the mother can rescind whatever it was she signed.
I don't really get it either.

Likewise. Not my area either but not seeming to all fit as it should.Perhaps the case was set for the week after the trial initially and we have not heard of any formal allegation being made to the Police of rape/DV so that immediate barrier might not be in place.
I am a bit ???? about how hard it seems to be to get Henry off Rob, but then i didn't really follow how he was able to get PR so easily....
