2001 - Great film but the ending leaves something to be desired. And this is even after reading the books & knowing what it was all about.

If only they'd had the balls to swap the fates of those two characters at the end - if it had been the other way around it would have been much better and darker.

Knowing was shockingly bad ending.
Great film though.

^^^Totally agree with Law Abiding Citizen.

Whilst a chick flick.... The Break Up has a very lack lustre ending that leaves the audience cold and dissatisfied - something a chick flick should never do.

Pretty in pink

While Risky Business wasn't ruined by the released ending, I liked the original (included on the blu ray release as an extra) better.

Watched The Call last night. Quite a good film, and kept me gripped.

Right until the last minute.
Completely agree with this. Started off quite fresh, a new concept etc. Then I felt like I was watching a different film, like a bad rip-off of Silence of the Lambs. Must've run out of ideas - i.e. "st how do we end this?"

Good call on War of the Worlds.

Quite decent until the last couple of minutes

Nothing wrong with the ending of War of the Worlds. It fits in with the original timeframe of the book.
Cant speak for Shaoxter but my own problem with the end is

the son suddenly being there completely unharmed, very Hollywood

Actually if you watch there is a reason for it.

However I agree and also would have made a better ending the other way around.

have to agree with war of the worlds too, (BTW it has nowt at all to do with the amazing book).

in fact all of Speilbergs output for the past 15 years that i have seen has crap endings.

But to add to the thread i give you 2 words.

Boogie Nights.

Porky's II - a magnificent piece of cinematography from Director James Komack, let down by a lacklustre and predictable conclusion.

Maybe not exactly one of the best pieces of cinema ever, but I really enjoyed Jeepers Creepers, right up until the point the evil protagonist turned out to be an alien. With fecking wings.

Castaway. I know it came out in 4,000 years ago but I only saw it recently and was quite enjoying it until the last 20 minutes. I can't think of a film in which the ending pulls down its trousers and takes such a massive dump on what preceded it.
