Not for me.

It reminds of the TopGear supercars for £10k. I bet its really slow compared to modern cars. Probably hardwork maintenance wise too without genuinely beautiful classic looks, just another generic looking 70's Gandini wedge.

And those ergonomics rofl
How are they hard work maintenance wise? They are pretty basic cars and many DIY them.

The top gear 10k thing was typical top gear with "engineered in" peril. I spoke with the owner of one of the cars and they assured me things were made to go wrong.
Top Gear bought the yellow Ferrari featured in that episode from a friend of mine who worked at and still works at DK Engineering. He’d taken me out in it and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the little car.
If I remember it right the Top Gear team even loosened an interior door handle, pointed a camera at it, slammed the door and filmed it fall off.

There was a similar controversy when the team delivering a Tesla noticed a script for the segment on a bench that had the Tesla's alleged malfunction written in advance of the test.

'Entertainment' I suppose. Thankfully Harry's Garage doesn't resort to this.

Lovely thing the Theon.

I think a navy blue, with tobacco woven leather (with orange pinstripe running through). Deleted rear seats, and instead some additional sound deadening, luggage and sound - delete the speakers in the doors.

That would do me I believe.

A couple's GT for touring Europe.

If I had the money for this I'd like the mechanical upgrades and a bespoke interior retrim in something that looks exactly like a standard 964 C2, complete with 16" D90 wheels.

This retro style is just getting a bit overdone now, and it's turned into a cliché.

What a great car and what a noise, I would have one of those in a heartbeat, it's a pity about the price, not that it's too expensive, just that I can't afford to buy one.

I sort of didn’t want to like that. Reminds of relic guitars and all that. But it’s quite something.

I suppose they would merrily stick that engine and gearbox/suspension etc in a 964. Leave it looking as standard as possible.

I’m not that much into all the carbon perfection. But that engine. Wondrous.

Great looking, great sounding….

But all that money, and the first time you change the oil filter, it pisses oil all over the shop surely ?
Why mount it sideways ?

Standard filter location on an air-cooled 911. They're dry sumped and the filter is mounted higher than the oil tank, so you should only get a few drips out of the filter, which can easily be contained with a rag.

What made me laugh was the leather cover to hide the orange oil filter, but they left the standard yellow plastic oil filler cap in full view right next to it.

I spotted that and wondered what it was! I forgot that car existed

As for the Theon - Yes, please. Stunning car.

My thinking too. It's a recreation of something that never existed - although there's no doubt it's beautifully done.

I'd have an original - warts and all.

Theon.

It was quite pretty and I get people's enthusiasm for it but I'm not sure if it's just me or it's a case of the king's new clothes.

It was looking OK until it got to the leather oil filter cover and then I had to rewind and start watching it again.

It lacks soul and overall a bit of a tart's boudoir.

Why create something like that when the whole thing is just a bit pointless.

It's isn't a classic car, it isn't something new, modern or sufficiently different. It's just a custom car that is legitimised these days with the term restomod.

It is however a case of a good excuse to employ people who like messing about with cars and a tool to extract money from those who are just looking to spend it on something and if there's a market for that then great.

It's also material for another great Harry's Garage video.

I don't get Harry's enthusiasm for it though - he usually has better taste.

Leather oil filter cover -- FFS!!!

Because they can and there are enough daft people with money to keep this business going.

Not for me but each to their own. Cars for me should be how they rolled off the production line when new.

I can see the appeal and it looks great to drive, is it in danger of trying a bit too hard?

The mirror issue could become really irritating.

I think so too.
I’d have thought for 650k they could have engineered that out.

I loved the video, because it's Harry in his element, always great watching him fly about in a car he's enjoying.

The cost is too mental by half, however, wealtht, car loving people have to buy something, and so I think it's a good thing that Theon exists, and that they can deliver something genuinely, truly special, and desirable.

This would be my option too, I’d love it in the back of my 993, sort of Porsche sleeper!
