Has he given up on this then?

Also, why does it say (on the channel page) that the XJS video (the most recent) was uploaded 'a month ago', but when you actually click on the video, it shows the upload date as 'Published on Jul 28, 2015' i.e 2 months ago?

I'm not sure where he went, his videos are very detailed and accurate, he really does do his homework on the cars before releasing the video.

he commented that the professional video editing is expensive and youtube revenue isn't enough to cover it, let alone make money with it.

he tried patreon (like chris harris) but that failed, probably because people are not inclined to "donate" money to a person with a multi million dollar garage. smile

One would assume that it says "1 month" until the day it becomes "2 months", which would be 28th September.

I put it down to being the 'social season'. June-Sept is the busiest time of the year so not much spare time to indulge in things like this. And Harry does seem to be quite social, given the number of events I see his mug at.

Hopefully that is the case.

I don't think he's given up, just that it must take quite a while to film and have them edited due to their length and in-depth nature. I guess also with the problem of funding them that you have to keep the numbers down. I have thoroughly enjoyed every video he's done, so am prepared to wait ages between each one. biggrin

Presumably he'll do one on his own Project 7 now that it's been delivered. cool

I'm pretty sure that Harry has previously said he effectively pays for the whole lot out of his own pocket due to the tiny amount that YouTube pay out. Clearly, he isn't short of a few quid, but that's not really the point.

Oh, right sorry. I assumed they were filmed by himself at little or no cost.

I wonder how much he is charged for editing?

Doesn't seem overly complicated, I could probably edit similar over my lunch break.

I think his channel is great, I might drop him a mail offering free editing if he starts up again.

I find it odd that people expect something for free, just because the provider has a few quid in the bank.

Should I expect to fly for free on a Virgin aircraft, because Richard Branson has a few bob already?

No, but this is somewhat different. He wanted to continue his EVO diaries and thought the YT model was good enough and would make him a few quid to at least cover the travel, petrol, etc.

In that sense he was misguided and hence the Patreon thing. Most of YT is produced to be delivered for free so is unusual to pay to watch YT or to pay to have content produced for YT.

Just watched the amphibious TVR one, Harry being very careful not to say what he really thinks of that monstrosity.
