That's one pig ugly lump, such a wide thing too. No colour could save that styling.

Looked wide and squat which I liked. And black much better than baby blue. Trouble is BMW black paint usually a bit poor. I suppose a colour in between would be good.
Obviously goes well
I’d have one

Never thought I’d say it about the hideous lump, but I actually like that from some angles… when it’s moving… from a distance.
Agree with everything Lord Metcalfe said.

How anyone can think light blue with black wheels looks good genuinely staggers me.

I'd be silly if I said no over this new M2 over mine, however F87 definitely looks better!

Yeah, he sometimes does that to avoid any incriminating evidence. Very prudent, I would say.

Imagine waking up the day after you'd put down a non refundable deposit on that!

Having said that, BMW are often ahead of their time with styling as we've become desensitised to what we first find pig ugly.

The lack of traction on that uphill section, in the dry, would frustrate the hell out of me.

I turned that one off after not very long. Really not my cup of tea.

Hideous styling
Boy racer pops and bangs
Looks like it wants to spit you into the trees at first opportunity.

Coming to a night time out of town retail park car meet near you, and subsequently a nearby lamp post, very soon.

I haven't found many BMWs to be attractive for the past 25 years, probably since Bangle and the Beaver Toothed Grills.

p.s. good name for a band that is!

He's going to wear out the traction control light driving like that.

I'm 46 and I like the looks, how is this awful, yet the E30 M3 Evo ok? People are getting old and miserable with their views I reckon.

Having watched the whole video now, too much power, not sure of the benefits over the standard, already fast car. Looks better slightly lowered, exhaust price a joke surely!

I enjoyed that M2 review. Admittedly it has had the Litchfield magic sprinkled on it, but it was nice to see a review of a BMW Harry actually really enjoyed driving!! Not been the case all that often of late. Talking of Litchfield, old school M cars didn't need a visit to an aftermarket specialist to perform on British roads as they were intended.....pity.

The new M2 is definitely colour sensitive. That blue one Harry had on black wheels looked awful, this black one with non painted alloys I thought actually looked pretty good. Very stocky and muscular looking car. I liked it - a lot.

My F10 M5 was the same, and it is frustrating as the only time you can put the power down is from 3rd onwards and then you're in licence losing territory, so pretty pointless, the M2 seemed to handle it a bit better (PS4S vs MPSS) I'm sure that 460hp is more than enough in that car.

I always think that it is swings and roundabouts though. Having a lot of grip isn't a bad thing of course, but it is also great fun feeling a car move around on its rearend as well though I reckon, and it gives you a bit of a challenge.

The M2 is slightly gawky to me but think in black it looked pretty mean.

Can see the similarities with the Ghibli Harry used to have in a sawn off shotgun of a car type way.

I wonder how long that input shaft on the manual box will last with all that power…?

enjoyed the video, but 640Bhp in RWD only must mean you are spending all your time avoiding wheelspin (unless you own a Kwikfit franchise of course).

More power than grip usually = fun, but that looked a right handful.

I almost bought a new M2, coming out of an GC M6, and that car with 591bhp couldn't put it's power down in the dry let alone the wet. It's ultimately why i decided to go for an XDrive M3 instead.

Loved the silver wheels on that Litchfield M2 - black wheels are just awful on any car and especially do not work on the Zaandvort blue model Harry previously drove.

Never yet heard an akrapovic exhaust that sounded good. Maybe the sound does not come over well on youtube videos but i don't get what the premium price is for.

Harry didn't really comment on the springs/suspension changes that much in the video unfortunately. @Maser care to elaborate if it felt much different, better even than standard?

I don't know, but it is. What I would say is that the M2 looks a lot better in almost any other colour than that flat baby blue that Harry reviewed the first car in.

For the first time after reading your post I compared the E30 Evo to this one, and whilst still not a looker, I do quite like how the design cues are carried across. Just wished they'd toned down the 'roid look a teensy bit.
