no one is complaining about that scene, all i said was that it has aged badly and isn't as shocking as it once was. Frankly you're ranting over nothing.
Well, I had been drinking.

Is that as close to "I'm sorry" as you get?

For my brother in laws 30th; 7 years ago, my sister hired out a screen at their local cinema for a private showing; for friends and family, of Back to the Future which just happens to be my favourite film, unfortunately as it was so late I bloody fell asleep!

Well I enjoyed that, seemed a good atmosphere in the cinema and nice to not have anyone messing around through the film!

Annoyed that we missed out on VIP seats as after 5 1/2 hrs in the normal ones my back and legs weren't happy!

Booked up for Bladerunner too, VIP this time.

Had a good night mith my mate.

Few issues in the screen though, the lights didn't go off totally, (think a dimmer switch just before you turn it off, that glow from the bulb) and the girl selling stuff from a stand had a small freezer with ice cream tubs, she didn't turn the light off for about 15 minutes intot he film, so all the light spoiled the darkness of the film. The lights also went on, off, really bright, a random light came on down the front, the film went off......came back on ant the lights eventually went off. the crowd mostly laughed.

For aliens, the film was on for a good 10 minutes before the lights went off after the break, which was also really annoying but by this point most of us are having a laugh, it seemed more like a laugh with mates in the living room, which while fun, was a bit crap given this was the first time I had seen aliens on the big screen.

Sound was fin on ours, just the alien print is a bit soft compared to the sharper aliens film print, but I think that's just age.

Wasn't hugely impressed with Vue Re: the lighting, it seemed like they wouldn't turn the lights of for H&S excuses (given I am a HSE bod, I know this is bks) One guy got a bit moany and was having an argument with the girl at the front selling sweets and vanished for a bit, I assume trying to get the lights turned down, we assumed he wasn't 100% as whoever was with him was telling him to shoosh a lot but he wasn't having it.

Good to have old films in the cinema again, but the lights not going out did spoil the immersion a lot.

I was also in the Thurrock cinema and was really look forward to finally seeing these films on the big screen.

The sound issues on Alien really spoilt the film for me. There was so much missing from soundtrack, a lot of the tension building sound effects were missing. The scenes with Dallas in the ventalation shafts were a joke.

Aliens however was awesome on the big screen!

Apart from the group of little sts who ran in wearing Halloween masks and set off the fire alarm (delaying the start of the showing by an hour furious ) I really enjoyed both films. Was great to finally see Aliens on the big screen, and Alien was just as enjoyable as when it was last released around ten years ago.
I've still never found another film that maintains the feeling of dread/desperation from beginning to end as well as these two do.

I found Alien hasn't aged as well as Aliens has. re the chestburster, I think we've seen it so much on TV, that to finally see it on the big screen the horror of the surprise has gone, and the alien looks silly compared to what can be done today
Do you have that the right way round? I think Alien has aged much better. Aliens is just wobbly walls and blokes wandering round with masks on, quite comical.

Don't think it was me, I was sat nearer the back of the cinema, but wavey anyway. It did seem like a good crowd in there though.

As close to one that held any semblance of sincerity.
