Why bring it all up again?
This. I know he should never be forgotten, but bringing it all up again won't fix anything. I can't watch stuff like this, especially on that subject. It's harrowing.gaz1234 said:
If or when their identity gets out, do you think they will be in the st?
They have been out for years - one went back inside for having lots of kiddie porn on his PC... And he has turned into a heavy drinker and drung taker, he keeps finding himself in situations where he tells people who he really is /guilt /depression "look at me" or whatever his reason is. The other one which everyone believed was the brains behind it and the more brutal appears to be totally reformed (or acting to stay out of jail).
I remember it at the time well but didn't really comprehend exactly what they had done - I've seen the documentaries since and read up a fair bit on what they actually did suffice to say I didn't finish reading it. Those two should have been locked up for life instead let out after what 6-7ywars with all their lives in front of them to live.

But what sort of life? One on drink and/or drugs, the other forever wondering how long he's got before someone realises who he is and phones the press/organises a mob/glasses him down the pub. I don't have any sympathy for either of them, but I don't envy them either. The other one which everyone believed was the brains behind it and the more brutal appears to be totally reformed (or acting to stay out of jail).

Paul Britton / Brittain was the psychologist on the case and his books - Jigsaw Man and Picking up the Pieces are well worth a read.
grim reading in places but very interesting whether or not profiling works is another matter but I thought the accounts of the various cases he worked on riveting
