I think the interviewers attempt at trying to be all friendly would frustrate me if I was the suspect (and probably not in a way they want).
As apposed to what? Rude and obnoxious - that would wind most people up more, and would also probably lead to the solicitor intervening.

Agressive and angry - if your intimidating then the solicitor will certainly kick off, and the interview will/should be none admissible.

I'd say the interview was pretty spot on. He put the evidence to the bloke and remained composed. You can't really ask for much more.

His question about how he wanted to name the bloke was very good. It played on the chaps ego. It's a twist on the usual interview starters asking you perfectly civil questions, the logic being that if you answer some questions at the beginning you are more likely to answer more later. They were hoping that by keeping the phone box back that he would deny ever having the phone, either in interview or via a statement.

Again though - those who are determining guilt. You have seen one tiny part of an investigation. This is the part where the police put the evidence to the suspect. It would be bizarre if someone looked reasonable and innocent in an interview.

I think in such a scenario we both know what we are there for and I'd rather just have the questions put to me, even if he made it clear he though I was scum (but not aggresivley)

I know the tactics he was using were to try and get the guy to open but I found the way he did them to be a bit condescending (if that is the right word).

The guy didn't break that easily anyway! Cough up to a murder just coz you have had knee surgery or something like the interviewer, as if!

I don't think she's as innocent as she's making out, she seems a little strange.

Anyone explain to this layman why she didn't appear to have a lawyer present during that interview?

To get to this point she must have been a monumental pain in the arse.

I've had a person subject to a first case harrasment order (against me) and even with taped voicemail threats to kill me, continuous abuse and culminating in attacking a colleagues car, only now has it gone to court.....

My experience is that you have to consistently have flouted the law to get picked up and held.

Ergo: Blondie will get guilty but not of theft smile

She looks like a pisshead as well smile

Why is that breathing baby sponsor advert so loud compared to the actual program? Its really rather annoying.
