Unless his specialist subject is lying to the police, he appears to be proficient in that....

He'd struggle on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" if he had to phone a friend.

See how they both did a 20 hour shift. Do they literally go home for a couple hours sleep and back into work? Would that also be counted as overtime?

Yes that all seemed a bit weird.

Maybe they hadn't sentenced yet, although it was last year wasn't it?

Makes my blood boil, these people are slime and pathetic in equal measure what a waste of flesh. This guy isn't even sorry, he's just said he's only sorry he got caught.

Yep, but with no evidence of actually being involved with participation of such, guess it's about right with the 'justice' meted out in this country.
The only salve being the wrecked lives they can now look forward to.

I've yet to catch any of the current series.

My other half works in Child Protection - she is in court at the moment for a big case. Just dealing with this one job has noticeably drained her - more so because of the ineptitude of various people within the justice system, rather than the case itself.

In answer to the question about them working 20 hours etc - yes, they do, regularly. Then they go back in after minimal sleep to do it all over again. One of the main reasons for this is that come 3pm on a Friday, social services and schools call in to tell the CPU about a 'really urgent safeguarding issue' that they've known about all week - it is then down to the Police to follow it up - unlike the schools or social services, the Police can't leave it over the weekend..... We don't make plans for weekday evenings any more.....
