I think Beth is getting rogered silly by escaped members of the group who originally attacked Terminus. They could have been a few of the bad guysescaping from Terminus and picked her up in their car to continue their rapefest. Chronologically it could fit and we haven't seen how the cannibals took back their asylum yet.

What was the symbol that the black guy from the very beginning saw on the tree?

Is it some kind of hiker sign meaning 'follow' or something? I wonder how far behind the group he is

He is Morgan from S1 and S3. The sign hasn't been revealed in the TV series yet; not sure about the comic book but it does look like some kind of trail to follow.

Notice how the vines had grown over the sign as well, so it can be assumed he is at least a couple weeks behind.
