So last nights episode was a bit of a slap in the chops quite frankly.
they go sleep in some rickety old barn, and a tornado apparently strong enough to such all the walkers away and pound them with flying trees passes by about 6 feet from the barely closed from door... and there's no damage and everyone goes for a nice little sleep in the safe little barn... which lets face it if that was a tornado would be somewhere over a rainbow if the tornado came that close... meanwhile grumpy Daryl is too miserable to even shout for help when 30 odd walkers, who turn up unannounced and in an orderly fashion, try to join the party.
Am I being thick here but the hundreds of walkers being held at the door was obviously a dream. Surely everybody could see it was a dream?
Pretty poor, nothing else said about the fact they are effectively told they're being followed. Daryl, the expert tracker, woodsman and "good ole boy" doesn't try to find out who it is, despite a couple of "time outs". Rick seems to make no issue, even that bloke with the fantastic mullet gets saved by his arch nemesis, ginger bks. After all that, rent-a-preppie turns up dressed like he's out for a Sunday stroll proclaiming to be everyone's beshtesht mate and knows Rick.
Not the finest, but Michonne does seem to have a firm set of bangers.

That's what it seemed like to me. Why else would they all be back asleep at peace

Very bad episode. badly filmed/directed/written. one of the worst in fact in recent memory, including the bks that was last weeks pap with Tyrese.
There were so many holes in the plot and script in this one (and many previous episodes) that this is quickly becoming a farce!
What is the point in spending so long building character attributes which are then just thrown out of the window in one crappy scene?
Too many times I'm finding find myself saying "well, as you demonstrated in previous episodes, you just wouldn't do that", but for dramatic effect you've suddenly become a retard and forget everything you've learned.
Not happy!

Am enjoying the comments you guys make more than the program itself.
Me too. I've given up completely on it now and haven't watched this weeks episode. It's just about watchable but nothing ever happens. I watched last weeks episode (the tyrese one) and decided that was it - utter bks. I said I wouldn't watch series 5 at all because sweet FA happened in series 4, but gave it a go anyway. It has definitely gone the way that Lost did. "Better Call Saul" started 2 weeks ago and made me realise what a great TV programme can be.If there really is all this good material in the comics, then where is it? It's been a bit crap for at least 2 seasons now. A group of bad guys holed up in <insert building> over and over and over. Has anyone tried to cure insomnia with the walking dead yet?
Just caught up, have to say, its getting pretty boring now.
I never noticed it much when I was watching one back to back but now waiting weekly for it just makes you that bit more pissed when its st.
I have no idea how the stranger is going to pan out, but im guessing its not going to go down well.

I want to see some of our group become bad guys. Maybe stumble upon a small group of survivors looking weary and take advantage of it for their own good.
Direction is obviously what we're all wanting. An apocalyptic show with no sense of where it could be going, just endless near deaths and just about surviving every episode. What's the end game? Either a cure, a safe haven, death or the dreaded 'it was all a coma dream'.
We only seem to be headed for the latter. I just think the introduction of these new characters will just be time wasted on developing their characters before it kicks off and we're back to the old group +/- a few.

Being stretched out or ignored.Herchel's farm was that long in the comic, but lasted for series 2?
It's a real shame that the great stories from the comic book have only been half hearted implemented. The Governor thing got closet
They need to revert back to series one format, and half the episode count, make it more urgent.
A longer term game-plan would have helped them I think (like Carnivàle) but people are less willing to that.
edit.
I watched the show over my laptop..like normal...and then I came on here and realised I hadn't a clue as to what you were all talking about, it wasn't able to make me lift my head so much, so I watched it again.
I think a corner may have been turned and the start of a huge storyline, a good one is about to start.
Don't really know why the zoms are all ripped up...localised tornado?

At the time, the Governor and his lot was actually quite good relative to what we have now. Can't say I ever thought it was excellent, but it's FAR ahead of what's happened since. Did you mean that Herchel's farm was not that long?Herchel's farm was that long in the comic, but lasted for series 2?

Hmm a corner has been turned? If you look back through this thread this is said over and over. How many episodes are left of this season, 4 or so? I don't see it improving, which is why I'm done with it.
Yes below there are spoilers (for those of you who don't see the tag on mobile) so don't read on if you saw someone had updated the thread an hour before the UK showing and thought it wouldn't contain spoilers...
I said last week that if this was another let down episode then I was done with TWD.
For me it was a far better episode (especially flare, meet zombie eye) but chock full of plot holes and bits that generally pissed me off:
- Glenn "anyone comes out to us we kill them". "alright everyone alerts, weapons up" etc etc. When has he ever been like that, and why is he doling out the military orders, not Abraham?
- Rick, a skilled marksman, misses a walker from about 2 metres away with his trusty revolver. Previously we've seen unskilled shooters making headshots from cars bouncing over farm land at 20/30 metres
- Another bloody car incident. No-one is capable of looking at the road ahead of them and seeing oncoming danger. Seemingly also Glenn felt it necessary to yank on the handbrake and stall the car, having driven dead straight for a hundred metres through the pack of Zombies
- st the car won't start.... quick run into the massive pack of zombies and to safety
- Michonne - "The fight's over.... you've got to let it go" while they're sat on the side of the road next to a broken down RV, on the way to an as yet completely unseen/unknown apparent sanctuary
- "No-one, dead or alive will be able to hear her crying, she'll be safe etc etc". Roll up to the gates to the happy sounds of children playing
- ETA: Also
All that said, it's done enough to sucker me in for another week.
