There was also the zombies with W carved into their foreheads.

I've got a feeling Morgan took the gun, he's been tracking them for a while now and must be pretty close. Anyone know why the gun had the letter J written on it? Only thing I can link it to is Judith.

Exactly, they have been brought in as protectors because the place is a honey pot, I expect it's going to turn into mad max over the next few weeks.

I really don't think it will be a power struggle.

Rick showering showing him a normal life: check
Everyone getting jobs and so softening up: check
Coral playing games and falling in love :check
Being told there are few people or zombies around: check
Love interests: check
Showing the inhabitants are too inept to look after themselves: check

It's being set up so they are going back to a normal life, kind of happy ever after so its going to turn to crap and spectacularly.

Few episodes of things being fairly good, slowly things go bad. Power struggle, either they'll kill off the people they need to, or flood the town with zombies, then clear the place out afterwards.

Perhaps I might be looking too much into it, but I wonder why the blonde lass that cut Rick's hair seemingly has a thing for owls - she had one tattooed on her forearm and she was building a sculpture of one that Rick ran into.

Probably nothing, but it seems like an odd level of detail to go into!

She is attractive. If he's a dick it makes it ok for Rick to kill him and then get it on with his wife.
That seems to be the pattern.
