The Paedophile Hunter

I can't help but think all this will do is ensure the dirty bds are more careful in what they do now. The entire documentary was like a handbook of things NOT to do if your going to go around noncing.
Using aliases when contacting these girls?
Using a prepaid phone rather than something that's tied to them personally (ie a contract phone)?
Sending photo messages but ensuring their faces aren't included.
Avoiding any invitations to Nuneaton!
and so on and so forth
If the American equivalent of the show is anything to go by, unfortunately it doesn't act as much of a deterrent. A high proportion of the people caught are fully aware of the show having watched it yet still go through with it. I suppose the urge these people have are so strong that any "logic" goes out the window.Using aliases when contacting these girls?

I've always understood the only deterrent is certainty of capture (and I assume that has to be followed by some sort of punishment) so clearly these people don't think they are going to be caught. Maybe they know how many people are up to the same tricks and also how rarely people are caught so it easy to think the odds are heavily in their favour. Like another poster I don't like the idea of all the Facebook shaming, etc. That's all too medieval for me.

Best part of the show is when he comes out from behind the curtain and casually says, "so what's going on here" - you can see their world fall apart before they leave the building where they are invariably rugby tackled to the ground by the gun-totting Feds.× Walks outside ×
BAM!

A compelling documentary for sure, one I'm going to watch again for the sheer OMG-ness of the nonces as they rolled up at Stinson's house and were rumbled. I wonder how many just get on their toes pronto, realising the game is up, but not giving him the footage he wants? I couldn't quite believe the bloke who sat around sorting out his roll-up and having a chat about it.
What I found most dsturbing was how many of the paedos were prepared to turn up to a Nuneaton council estate and go into an unknown property to meet an underage girl for the first time as if it were the most normal of day to day activities. That made my blood run a little cold.
I think that is proof - if any were needed - that these people really are just not right in the head. What I found most dsturbing was how many of the paedos were prepared to turn up to a Nuneaton council estate and go into an unknown property to meet an underage girl for the first time as if it were the most normal of day to day activities. They certainly need to be locked up - just not sure if it should be a prison or secure unit.

Absolutely staggering.
Very interesting show, and entertaining too. I loved seeing the scum being made to sweat, that was always the best part of 'to catch a predator' too.
I guess the police sent him that 'cease and desist' letter out of fear one of his stunts would go wrong and someone innocent would get hurt. But I am guessing they don't have anywhere near the amount of staff or money needed to reel off large scale investigations with the proper documentation and authority that Hunter can do from his front room with no beauracracy.
The scale of the problem is staggering, and every effort to tackle it helps. Unlike a bit of speeding or cycling on the pavement, this is something that really needs looked at.

Finally got round to watching it. I'd seen a few videos of his on Facebook before and a couple from the other guy, Daemon Hunter. Before viewing this documentary, I was completely on the fence, I could see the positives of what he did but the viral vids were edited in a way I thought were entrapping people and causing just as much harm as good.
After viewing, I hope he continues and can assist with as many convictions as possible. I cannot believe the last guy was released without charge, but I'd imagine his life has still been damaged beyond repair.

A great documentary. Nothing more to add than there is no doubt in my mind that all of those dirty old nonces on the program knew exactly what they were after, and deserve everything they get. They aren't goaded into snaring themselves, they are given the opportunity to manipulate what they believe to be a child into sex, and turn up equipped for the job.
That woman who has the fatherless child needs to have a word with herself too. Complaining that because of Hunter, her child has no father - what about all the other children out there who the dirty old git could have nonced? She is getting all upset about her child growing up without a dad, while Mike was off trying to nonce someone else's child. A disgusting double standard. Would she rather her kid grew up with a paedo father who might try and fiddle the child? Or grow up knowing their father was a nonce, and have to look him in the eye?
