Just to add, the latest 'Deadringers' on R4 is very good imho.

The treatment of the Greens, Milliband, Farage etc nicely weighted and properly rude at times.
Agreed.
Interviewer...What if you don't get an overall majority?

Ed Minigland...I want to

What if you don't?

I've got a fiver that says her friend, Susan Calman gets The News Quiz gig.
If Hardy alone wasn't enough to get me to turn off, that will be the final straw. Odious woman....
Interesting fact: Susan Calman is actually a lesbian and is married, but she doesn't like to talk about it.
Get away! Next, you'll be telling us she likes cats... rolleyes
Is she from Scotland?

Dead Ringars is back on R4.

At last, some proper topical comedy.

Andrew Neil even gets a spot.

The Now Show 11/12 Dec.

WTF. A five minute interview with a "climate change" stooge in a comedy show. WT absolute F.

I have had it up to here (or there) with all the "Pro man made climate change" sheeite that is being preached to us via BBC and Government.

The climate has/will change. Adapt and survive. I believe we should be efficient, save energy and fossil fuels (especially to make lovely petrol), but to brainwash the world with this new religion is pizz boiling. Even her "facts" that were incorrect were not challenged*

Oh, and don't start me on Carbon Capture... Spend that money on proper renewable research such as energy storage e.t.c.

  • Cumbria's worst rainfall ever - The station that recorded it has only been in use in recent times so the records do not cover previous high rainfall events. Statistical shenanigans.

Was awful. Switched off just after because it was an embarrassment.

Listeners know how good R4 comedy was in the past so why are they flushing out such ste?

And yet on Feedback this week there was a series of messages from people who were very annoyed that the BBC hadn't rammed the climate change angle wrt Cumbria down our necks enough, in order to convince the sceptics.

There was me thinking it wasn't the BBC's job to tell us what to think hehe

They made up for it on Friday's The Now Show.

Irrespective of the content, the 'guest speaker' spot, new to this series, does bring the show to a grinding halt. Don't see the point of it TBH.

If they don't push the BBC company line on man causing climate change they are sent for re-education and their programme is deleted from history.

It's a topical satirical show introducing a deadpan Q & A session on an event that was still unfolding...whilst seemingly more topical things that have actually happened get sidelined.

Weird times. And then I see a trailer for 'Bear Grylls walks Alaska with Obama' - we're clearly through the looking glass now...

It's ok, for balance he goes to Mecca with Donald Trump next week... wink

Whilst those of right wing leaning froth about all the 'lefties' on the Beeb's comedy shows, can any of you propose a FUNNY right winger? Ian Hislop seems to just be anti-establishment, whilst I'll concede Clarkson is both funny and right wing, but can you think of many others?

I'm all for balance, and surely with all that expensive education some of them must be clever enough to be funny, but it seems being right wing and funny is pretty much impossible... Is it just the case that the funny who are right-wing realise that overtly right-wing comedy often looks like bullying or arrogance?
