I noticed Museum of Curiosity is back... without the 'help' of Noel Fielding. A very good episode too.

There are some Dead Ringers Christmas specials coming up, which I'm looking forward to.

Well - I must say I enjoyed a soupçon of "The News Quiz" this week...

Sadly it was just the first time they had tried a headline in a foreign language - that one cracked me up.

But Karma was served when I wasted an hour of my life trying to listen to "The Now Show" attempting..... well I don't have any notion what they were attempting. Was it supposed to be funny?

If you thought that wasn't funny (neither did I), have a listen to the re-runs of 'The Mary Whitehouse Experience'. Perhaps tastes in humour have changed but it really does sound dire, even Kenneth Williams' 'Stop Messing About' raises more smiles. On the up side, 'Cabin Pressure' has returned from episode one on 4Extra.

There were several comedians interviewed on radio 4 today. While the odd comment on how they should lampoon all classes of politics from one of them

The general tone was the news has to be impartial so we have to get darker as it's our job to engage the public against the bad things that are happening I.e brexit and trump.

They really do think their job is to influence people to vote the way they want them to.

Some of the comments were hilarious. They live in a different universe, high and mighty and they know better.

Speaking of Finnemore, so has his Souvenir Programme. The last-ten-minutes yarns remain as stupidly ridiculous as always...

The Friday night slot is back to the bottom of the comedy barrel again so need to find something else for the next 4-6 weeks.

On a plus note, I've finally gotten around to converting 3 of the 4 FAB TV episodes (from 1997) into mp3 so there's that to look forward to.

Also, this was on 4Extra yesterday & made me laugh:

The Guns of Adam Riches

I caught the 'alternative 2016' one, which was very good, I thought.

Were there other new Dead Ringers this Christmas?

As opposed to those f**ktards who lie to us to actually get elected and run the world?

Mmmmm - I'm not too worried about what comedians say, personally...

In the Times culture section yesterday they had interviews with all the usual suspects from The Now Show and The News Quiz about what their thoughts were for the new year & what they will be joking about.

Andy Parsons - Brexit, Trump
Bridget Christie - Trump, Brexit, Climate Change
Russell Kane - Trump, Brexit
Gina Yashere - Trump (he's the devil but he's brought all the racists out in the open.)
Nick Helm - Trump, Brexit
Susan Calman - Trump, Brexit
Shazia Mirza - Trump, Toberlone

Do you know what? I see a theme there.

Basically a bunch of left wing idiots who still can't over the fact that they didn't get what they wanted last year and all its all the little peoples fault.

Smiler.

The perfect antidote to the repetitive "right on" drivel is The Tim Vine show.

Since Sandy left the News Quiz in my opinion it's become much less funny. Used to laugh out loud. No longer.

What the eff do you want them to joke about? s and mothers-in-law?

Anyhow, I'm currently listening to old episodes of Hamish and Dougal on the iPlayer. 15 minutes of more filth, smut, double AND single entendres you never heard in your life. But it's got Jeremy Hardy in it so it can't be any good, can it?

Doesn't he (Jeremy Hardy) have a degree in modern history and politics? If so, you could say he's better equipped to comment on political matters than most of those listed above. As for Hamish and Dougal - isn't it good to hear some smut now and again.

To be honest I have thought the exact opposite.

When she started on the show she was very good, but towards the end her act seemed to just consist of sycophantically laughing at anything Jeremy Hardy said.

I was not looking forward to her on QI, but she seems back on form there.

Just to clarify, I heartily endorse Hamish and Dougal, and Jeremy Hardy.
