The Friday night slot is back to the bottom of the comedy barrel again so need to find something else for the next 4-6 weeks.

On a plus note, I've finally gotten around to converting 3 of the 4 FAB TV episodes (from 1997) into mp3 so there's that to look forward to.

Also, this was on 4Extra yesterday & made me laugh:

The Guns of Adam Riches
I always enjoy that show. No new series for some time though.

It's a repeat, Series 11 finished in Novermber. A good night on 4Extra last night, Cabin Pressure and Ed Reardon.

News Quiz - Radio 4 last Friday night.

Whisper it, but I found it actually quite funny. Jeremy Hardy taking the mick out of centre left viewpoints, a really rather good joke about Tim Farron treated like a child of divorced parents, and rather less cheap point scoring on the usual easy targets.

Hope it continues.

Oh bugger - it's an episode I'd not heard before so it got my hopes up, although I seemed to remember it sounding a bit 'final' when it finished last November (I lost track of what series number we had got to)

Yes, I noticed that.

Could this have something to do with host Miles Jupp recently alluding to Hardy's penchant for reading Socialist Worker whilst wiling away long hours on the lavvy...?

Despite The Donald being an easy target of opportunity they failed to say anything funny about him, just a lot of worthy teeth-gnashing; I are disappoint.

John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme is now terrible, I didn't mind the last series.

The "flights of fancy" bits at the end have definitely tailed off in quality. When they're there.

Since when did Chain Reaction degenerate into comedian interviews has bland pubchat with another comedian? It used to be quite interesting people(some of whom were comedians) actually interviewing, this is tedium.

I had the misfortune to hear "It's Jocelyn" last night. Oh my goodness, it plumbed new depths of utter, utter unfunniness.

Don't, what ever you do, listen to 'Detective Sergeant Nick Mohammed'. I did last night and it was utter, utter rubbish.

it was shocking. i listen to a lot of comedy on 4extra, and you do wonder who signs some of this stuff off.

Is that the same Jocelyn as the Jocelyn of Little Miss Jocelyn (in)fame?
The one from whom the un-funniness Little Miss Jocelyn scale was derived.
e.g. that <insert unfunny comedy show title here> rated a full 1.0 on the Little Miss Jocelyn scale
or
that <insert funny comedy show title here> barely registered on Little Miss Jocelyn scale.

Is that the cracked bell of diversity box ticking I hear a-clanging?

regards,
Jet

Is that same bell they wheel out whenever Gina Yashere appears? It's a close-run thing as to who's the unfunniest. I don't have an opinion, as I've never lasted more that 45 seconds of either of them before I fling the radio through the window and send the BBC the bill.

Recreating the "lost Hancocks" is great though - just caught up with the one with "Harry Secombe" where they mistakenly went to Paris instead of Southend (and, of course, thought they'd arrived at Blackpool). Perhaps it's just my age, but this is what comedy should be about!!!

Also saw the one on telly, with Kevin Eldon who does a stunningly good Hancock - and in this ^^^ was playing Bill Kerr - and other actors doing a great job
