I've enjoyed this from start to finish. Charming is definitely the right word but it's also been very clever and I agree with the comments about the music too.

I also think it looked great all the way through, very nicely shot. Mackenzie Crook is clearly a very talented chap, Toby Jones is always brilliant and in fact the whole supporting cast is great. I'm going to miss it.

Definitely charming.

Didn't want it to end...

'Woman reads map'

Lovely countryside, too. And D Riggs' daughter. Sigh.

Really enjoyed this series. The character mix/development, comedy timing and filming have all been top notch. I think it is the subtlety and fairly slow pace that make it so watchable. Very pleased to see that another series have been commissioned.

(I also wonder if I might turn into Lance in about 10 years time, with the more modern equivalent of a TR7! smile)

I'll second that. Gentle, funny and wonderfully acted.

I wasn't sure after episode one, but it just got better and better and better.
I hope that series two isn't a let down.

I am glad this was not on BBC2, it's like a little undiscovered secret that only the lucky few are aware of

hehe that made me laugh quietly as I thought exactly the same. I only found out about it because Mackenzie Crook talked about it on BBC Breakfast and I thought it was worth a go from what he had said about it, so glad I did.

Has anyone noticed how much the lance sounds like the farmer from the Kevin Greeing radio show, remember the days of Gripper the dog

Just finished catching up with this: what a thoroughly enjoyable series.

Found myself smiling the whole way through, brilliant writing, beautifully shot and a great cast, absolutely spot on!

Look forward to more smile

Does anyone know where this was filmed?

Doesn't look like where it is set (Danebury appears to be Maldon on the map they looked at in the pub).
