I think its a fair guess that the Delorean is Lance's dream car. (another prefect 'almost' car)
I'd go for it being a Testarossa! 10 points for any other Detectorists nerd who can tell me the basis of my theory
10 points to paulw123!
You may now look knowingly at your fellow posters here with a look that says "I know you all knew that"

Started watching this for the first time a few days ago. It’s utterly brilliant . I’ve been seriously missing out not have ever thought to watch it . The humour is wonderful , the scenery breathtaking and just gives you such a warm comfortable feeling when you’re watching it. Best thing I’ve seen in a long long long time.
I’m quite envious of the people who are just watching this for the first time. It’s one of those rare programmes that I wish I’d never seen and then could binge the whole lot.
Having said that it gets better each time you watch it, but seeing it for the first time is a treat to savour.
PS kicking myself for not putting 2 and 2 together and getting the Testarossa reference!

Funny you should say that ,as I said to my wife after the first episode that I also felt quite sad. It’s the knowing that’s it’s a gem that doesn’t come along very often and it’s tinged with a slight regret that you can’t go back and see it for the first time. A bit sentimental I know, but these days you have to savor the very few things that are truly worthy of praise. You’re very lucky! January is a crap month, cold, damp, dark and depressing. Can’t imagine any better series to watch from scratch at the moment to escape the gloom. You only get to watch it for the first time once, so crack on and enjoy We have just finished all three series after watching the Christmas special and it was the best thing we have watched in a long time. Beautifully written and the scenery was fantastic. I agree with the comments about being jealous of people who are just starting it. As ttmonkey said to me, you are in for a treat!
There's a lot to like about this series, but defo agree with the below:
I remember first watching the series when we had a young baby and my overwhelming feeling regarding Andy was that he's basically a bum, minimal contribution to the family and just wanders around doing his hobby without a care in the world. Of course his wife is annoyed with him! If she had posted about their situation on Mumsnet, they'd have advised her to LTB (leave the bd) ages ago as he's a useless 'cocklodger' (as they say).
Putting that aside, it's a nice, feel good series and deserving of praise.

I don’t get Andy and his wife’s relationship. For a start he’s definitely ‘punching’, secondly she doesn’t like him and is nasty to him…..which he deserves.
Also I really don’t like everything being explained to me in the script. Apart from that it was a good episode with a nice punchline!
Yea he’s deff punching! Think she does love him but is just very frustrated but both him and her work/job situation. Also I really don’t like everything being explained to me in the script. Apart from that it was a good episode with a nice punchline!

I noticed that when they have a kissing scene they never actually kiss on the lips - presume this is the actor's personal choice rather than part of the script.paulw123 said:

Same here, for some reason it completely passed me by. Heard it mentioned recently due to the Christmas special, didn't realize the first series first aired in 2014!My mum asked me over Christmas if I'd seen it, she liked it and it was all filmed around where I grew up. Caught the first episode on a random channel a couple of days later and now binging it (although trying not to binge too much...)
