They may be 'ok' but the genre of the new films is completely changed IMO. Which for me is a shame because I find fictitious action films generally boring, and so much stuff is made in that style today. Strikes me as if it's designed for an instant gratification audience with a short attention span. Older Star Trek was definitely sci-fi, not action.
Yep - can't argue with that.
Also, you're probably right about Wrath of Khan. I'm not especially big on the films, but they were the sort of thing I might be inclined to watch if they're shown on TV. I think I felt that, as they were, there was always the potential for a future film that would be different (to the norm) and good (and totally slow and boring for people that don't get it). The Star Trek I really like is TNG, probably as I grew up with it, possibly because it's just the right age (so has some of the style of the time that I grew up with), and possibly because Patrick Stewart is just really good. smile Tempted to get the DVD's (or Blu-rays, but some say they're badly cropped) and watch them all.

As long as Back To The Future is not remade in my lifetime, I'll die a happy man. Total Recall and Robocop were proof enough that these remakes turn everything to st.

Last I heard on BTTF - they were talking about a hummer travelling in time at 44mph.

....well somebody has to think of all the children who would be killed by a speeding driver in a empty shopping mall car park at 1:16 in the morning!

One of the best scifi spaceships ever. Would love to see it rendered in the latest CGI.

Hollywood really have lost the plot, the reason it was funny first time is because the cast were ugly blokes that actually looked a bit like scientists, picking chisel jawed stars like this just isn't in keeping with the idea of the film.

For Gods sake, hire the cast of The Big Bang Theory because they look perfect for the roll.

This, to me sounds like it would be an epic way to round off a Ghostbusters trilogy.

Not only does it sound like a genuinely good story, but it also handles Ramis' untimely passing as well - rather than just have Egon 'not rejoin the Ghostbusters'

Not likely as according to Reitman he was never going to be in it to begin with

Even if it was true it might have been a blessing, I think Ernie Hudson said the role practically ruined his career to an extent?

fking pathetic. It has gone completely off plot. Hope it flops at box office big time.

FFS. Does anyone at Hollywood have any original ideas?
Now its going to be a 'new' Ghostbusters with an all female cast (great!) and "star hilarious women". I think we will be the judge of that.

Thanks for that link - I hadnt seen that. That looks like it would have been an amazing end to a trilogy!
