Its becoming just a bandwagon thing, folks just hopping on to say how terrible it is, slagging it off, thumb downing it here and there. How about just not watching it.
Even that isn't enough to appease the SJWshttp://www.deathandtaxesmag.com/291025/ghostbuster...

Yeah.
The sad ting about Ernie's role is that it was reduced from a General who helped set up the thing to some johnny-come-lately who comes on as a basic handyman.
I do get to use the line frequently at work. "If there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe anything you say" though due to this. The sad ting about Ernie's role is that it was reduced from a General who helped set up the thing to some johnny-come-lately who comes on as a basic handyman.

But it fit quite well with the film. The sad ting about Ernie's role is that it was reduced from a General who helped set up the thing to some johnny-come-lately who comes on as a basic handyman.
Once they were set up and all the sciency stuff was built - Ghostbusting seemed to become a pretty mundane job akin to refuse collecting (until all the Gozer stuff kicked off). At the time Ernie's character was introduced, they didn't need A.N.Other scientist or a military general on the team - they needed a grafter who wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

In the film that they rewrote, yes.Once they were set up and all the sciency stuff was built - Ghostbusting seemed to become a pretty mundane job akin to refuse collecting (until all the Gozer stuff kicked off). It's no that bad...but it's basically using the old tune and lyrics...and the logo....they wanna use up every shred of goodwill from that most awesome film...ffs nothing new, let them create and let it stand more on it's own.
Unfortunately this is the way with Hollywood these days, because of the absolutely huge sums of money involved, they almost can't afford to take any risks so there will be focus groups working on exactly that, using up every shred of good will of the originals. To be honest I'm surprised we get any different\risky films at all and yet every year we seem to get at least a few which break the mould. Deadpool is an example, that film should never have been made but somehow they did and against all odds it's done really well in the box office, proof if it where needed that focus groups aren't the be all and end all.
