And Michael Caine.
Chirpy cockney geezer no matter what.
Watch Harry Brown, no chirpy chappy in that
Seen it. And fair point.
Cockney geezer, usually chirpy.

From the state of him these days he mostly just eats.

Many actors use facets of themselves in characters, even those where one might suppose they are a wholly different person. Even those *shudder*, method actors. biggrin
I adhere to the archetype system myself.

Off the top of my head, Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves.

Here is an article that I like.

Michael Caine is a skilful actor at different roles.

Colm Meaney

Always plays the irish criminal. And even when he doesn't, he comes across as an irish criminal (ie him in Law Abiding citizen)

I'd agree, and my suggestion was somewhat tongue in cheek on the same basis that every Michael Caine impression is someone drawling "Nottalotta pee-pawl know dat"

Just about all the "Movie Stars"

John Wayne, Arnie, Sly, Harrison Ford etc.

Not much difference for Ford in the characters of Bob Falfa in American Graffiti, Han Solo in Star Wars, Indiana Jones etc.

That's purely though because he was cast in his subsequent roles based on his previous performances. 73 acting credits - those are the only ones where he's been asked to play that "character". Deckard is very much not Han Solo...

Jean-Claude Van Damme

seems most of the movies I have seen with these 2 are basically the same.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed many of the movies but it's like watching Part 1,2,3,4,5 etc..

He could act very well, just chose the easier path.

Watch him in something like 'The Hill' I believe he could have been regarded as a great actor, and not just 'Sean' smile
