He is very good but IMO comes across smug and arrogant, good qualities for chef but also sets him up for a massive fail.

so st as a proramme and as a format. Watch australian mastercheft on watch hd to see how it's done. UK Masterchef is so so so so so so so so so so st by comparison. and i don't hate the presenters. it is just poor. and so are the contestants. oh the charisma you guys just so rock.... oh no holdon, we all died of boredom! just terrible.... laugh I love masterchef but this is so tired and dull as st. imagine if they had the budget.. BBC is so poor... (excluding he massive bonuses obvously...) rolleyes

Beetroot in a chocolate cake. Didn't someone do that in the last series, with similar results?

I can imagine that it would be ok in a cake just as carrot cake is excellent, just not pickled on the side, which is dumb.

Had to laugh at the lecturer. His life will be hell in class - "sir when making one portion of green pepper sauce is 30 peppercorns enough?" biglaugh

I had to laugh when the chap(forget his name)was asked where he had come from after saying that he had been brought up with lots of spices/spicy food and he replied "Manchester". hehe

It's getting quite common. I was sceptical at first but it's just there to add moisture, you don't taste it (or at least you shouldn't).

Nick comes across as very competent, i don't mind if a chef brags about how good he is if he can actually produce the goods.

oh and the Andy chap reminds me of Pete Tong.
