Thoroughly well deserved and soooo close. Delighted for him, what a fantastic young chef. Such classy, professional, confident and beautiful food.

I thought Tommy would win but a few errors in his 3 courses let him down.

All 3 were worthy winners, this series definitely had some the highest quality entrants I can remember.

I just had a look at the start of this thread, lot of hate for Marcus Wareing!

I think he’s great.

Michel Roux Jr has barely appeared, never in chefs table or anything. Wonder what happened? Was there a falling out between him and the bbc?

All 3 finalists good, but Tom has been the best for me all the way through. Very calm for a young man, and can’t recall a failure, and for me the best chef. Good series.

Good effort by all in the final, but Tom's victory is very well deserved - he really didn't put a foot wrong throughout.

So humble, too. I hope he goes from strength to strength.

He became an ambassador for Albert Bartlett spuds and it was a conflict of interest. I watched a program where he was training up his apprentices, seemed a proper gent in the kitchen carefully nuturing his brigade. No need for shouting and swearing.

Right decision tonight and Tom is possible winner, he knocked it out the park!
:cough: just sayin’…

Looking back a fair few people were making the right noises for Tom.

Riveting final. Really close , I thought for a second they were going to award it to all three.

I think it’s really a good program, combining food with entertainment and skill.

I wasn't expecting that. It was Kasae's to lose if she hadn't fluffed the dessert.

Tom was strong from the start so a worthy winner.

From the menu i would have gone....

Starter = Kaese's
Main = Tom
Desert = Tommy.

I thought the only reason Kasee didn’t win it was because her presentation wasn’t as good as the boys. I think her flavours were probably just better. Happy that Tom won it though, very close final.

I wanted Tom to win, consistently excellent; however, Marcus's comments on his dishes seemed like backhanded compliments.

I thought Kasee would win, she got lots of praise from the judges, it was a nice suprise that Tom got it.

All three finalists were excellent, Tom just seemed that bit more complete.

One of the chefs I wanted to see more of was Philippe, he was great!

Yes sadly for Philipe he had that one bad round but unfortunately that’s what knockout comps are all about. Shame though because he would have been right there at the end.
Very worthy winner in Tom, any of the finalists could have done it.
Very high standard this year.

We agreed, if that desert was what it was supposed to be it was hers although I think Tom had the stronger series as a whole.

The exciting thing about the show is it’s a cooking FA Cup, one bad dish and you’re out on your arse. Tom didn’t really have one and unfortunately Kasae did and it was in the final. She was actually lucky to get through one week (I forget which).
