ooh yeah, dna test on the burnt body shows it is in fact Alice, that'd make sense
But of course the thing would be that Alice was already dead so they moved the body to the Shed and lit the fire. The Sophie girl is still alive - and is now ? Maybe they were adopted kids
Maybe they were switched at birth
Maybe Sophie's mum couldn't get pregnant with her husband and had IVF but she was simply a saragate mother for Alice's parents.
Help me here...There's a paedo ring in the Army, including our demented Dad with the stained trousers? But this is a side issue to Alice...?
The body in the shed was Alice, but the shadow-eye-freak-girl did it and is buying coffee in Swiss cafes?
And now there's a third girl none of us have seen before (but how does the Mum know that girl is with them on the strength of that photo?).
Meanwhile limping ex-copper with cancer has been to the frontline and back, for no benefit when he already knew the dead black soldier's Dad was sending money to the ex-Bristol Uni museum curator.
Is that it?

Seems likely - they did something similar in the first series where it meandered off down the paedophile ring path for several weeks and that had nothing to do with the disappearance...Likewise there is a very strong "wolf" theme going through this one - dunno if anyone else has noticed it (?) but they did something similar with bees in the last series and that turned out to be nothing too!

Possibly... seems more likely that the body in the shed was the third girl (or someone else completely...). Also, if it really is, this has jumped the shark slightly - it seems a bit risky / stupid to go moving bodies around in full view of the house on an army base, even if she has one or more accomplices doesn't it? Plus if someone had seen the fire earlier the body might not have burned beyond recognition, or maybe I'm thinking about this too much The Don of Croy said:

Yup - I suspected there'd be more than two from the first episode I think she recognizes the necklace she's wearing as the one the burnt girl in the shed was wearing - I'd have to re-watch the last episode but I think the camera did linger on it.The Don of Croy said:

Assuming the fake Alice put the body of the real Alice in the shed before setting fire to it so the DNA test would be a match, would the post mortem not show that the real Alice was already dead before the fire, etc?
I realise that this is TV land and they have skipped over that part but still...

Yup - this was part of the problem I had with this - hopefully all will be revealed and it will make sense Incidentally, they didn't say that the body in the shed was the real Alice, they said the body was a DNA match for the father.I realise that this is TV land and they have skipped over that part but still...

It's yet another cracking series by the BBC. All those BBC haters need to open their eyes this is where it is at not 10years + old re runs of West Wing
I dunno about that - some of the Netflix original series are fantastic...Stranger Things, Narcos, Sense8, Designated Survivor etc.As far as I see it:
There are now three girls in the rollercoaster picture:
Sophie - right front in the rollercoaster car, Alice on the left, Girl 3 in the rear seat.
Sophie is the girl who returned as 'Alice'
Girl 3 had a necklace on in the rollercoaster photo; the dead girl in the shed had the same necklace on.
Ergo, Girl 3 could be the girl burnt in the shed.
'Returned Alice' (really Sophie) put her body there, probably with assistance from the Brigadier. Or somebody else did.
Sophie is still alive, otherwise why would the Swiss waiter be talking to her in French, yes?
Alice is still alive, or rather 'not confirmed dead', yet.
Critically last night they said they'd done a DNA test on the burned girl to confirm she was Alice, "she is a DNA match, with Sam" (Alice's Dad).
Do you see where this is going? Sam, we now know, is not averse to putiing his todger in barracks other than his wife. He has fathered another daughter, Girl 3, that his wife doesn't (yet) know about, which could explain the fractured family relationship that was hinted at in the opening scene of Ep1 (Alice smoking on her own at the bottom of the garden, looking unhappy, wandering off), and was mentioned by Alice's mum last night.
That's where I see this going. Sam has some skeletons in his closet.
