Nice twist. He always plays a baddie!
So I'm confused, who was the "Driller Killer"? I initially thought it was Sophie Gerioux's father who Baptiste was talking to in the DIY store but now I don't think so... was it the Army PR officer?

Yes it was. He's in on it/the main guy.

The girl in the house with him is the Daughter of Alice (or not Alice, the girl who was pretending to be Alice)

I think, (just a guess) that the 3 people involved (as mentioned by the man with dementia last night) are - the man with dementia, the PR guy with the drill and the dad of Alice.
I think they had the real Alice trapped somewhere and brought her back to put her in the shed before setting fire to it, (so the DNA matched) then Sophie/Alice did the runner.
I think that Henry Read was killed because he was about to expose the 3 guilty men.
The kid who had done the drawing is (probably) the child of PR/drill guy and Sophie/Alice.
There may be some big gaps in my theory, but this is what I think is happening. Looking forward to next episode.

By Alice's Dad I assume you mean Sam Webster (i.e. not Sophie Giroux's father)? I must say I haven't got him earmarked as one of the pedophile ring.

Don't forget to fit the toothless butcher lady in there somewhere. But where? We didn't see her last night but she's been in nearly every other episode.

Interesting theory. In the opening scenes of Ep.1 Alice was clearly playing the moody teenager - are you thinking she was involved in a paedo ring that her Dad was part of?

It is very good TV!

Thank god for you lot, otherwise I'd probably have given up by now. My brain can't take this confusion!
I'm also glad the muppets who usually show up just to cry 'spoiler' are keeping their distance - this really needs open discussion to keep up!

Bloody Hell.

That drill was a bit nasty.

Just idly thinking...why was the house in a mess? About to do a runner? Why now?

What has happened now - two years after her return - to place the action today? I can't remember!

Is a drill really that effective as a killing tool?
I would have thought it would take ages, minor detail I know.

Given the difficulty I have getting my Bosch cordless to drill into anything solid and not moving, someone's head moving about would be tricky to get a 'start' with. You'd have thought he'd have at least got a centre punch out, yes?

I'd be really annoyed if I was French policeman - go all round the world only to repeatedly get nowhere!

Now that PR looks to be one of the baddies, I think the butchers wife might be innocent but perhaps pissed off dementia? They didn't seem the best of friends when dementia came to get red hat lady from the butchers shop...

No, I think he had a 1/2" wood bit in it which has a pointed spike in the centre to get the hole started!

When my Dad was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in his early sixties, one of the indicators was his inability to follow plot lines in tv series. He used to drive Mum mad with questions. Gotta say I'm doomed at 49 cos this has had me bewildered from the start. Even if it had a linear timeline rather than constantly jumping around I don't think I could follow it.

Off to the docs next week then spin

He rammed the drill bit through the eye ball and then drilled straight into the brain.

Or the force of him smashing a drill bit into the temple gave a good enough centre punch

So trying to follow the series, and you lot, I thought I had it but the last one confused it.

So the question is.......

Who is the third girl?, is she the mother of the young girl with the PR man?, is the third girl the daughter of the PR man? [the copper seemed to know where to go very quickly [after being shown the photo], or have I got lost in the time continuum].

I watched series one last week, I loved it and it's quirky conclusion.

Nothing has held my attention as much as The Missing, hope there will be a third one

This has got to be the most complicated drama I've ever seen. I'm worn out at the end of every episode, trying to keep up. I log on to PH each week and hope this thread is still going, just to clarify things. Only two more episodes, thank goodness!
