Anyone know where it was filmed? I think it was in Belgium rather than France.
I don't know, but there's a lot of stuff about Flanders at the end of the credits.I'm quite enjoying this, other than having to pay attention quite a bit more than I've been used to recently. Though that's a good thing I think.
I wonder if he's using the money that Garrett signed over to him to live out in France (as he's obviously not working and hasn't been for years...).
ETA: I reckon Emily has something to do with Garrett's disappearance - ie. the journalist saying he knows what they did

I'm enjoying this series but really struggling with it too.
I'm trying to think how it can possibly end. We've all seen the 'Taken' method of dealing with these paedo-kidnapper-baddies but obviously not going to happen here.
Best case scenario - they find the son after 8 years of horrible stuff happening to him.
Worst case scenario - obvious.
For what it's worth I reckon that:
a) Wife has done something pretty terrible
b) Nesbitt isn't telling whole truth about how kid was taken
c) Limping detective has got serious skeletons in the closet
d) Lock Stock bloke dies

I agree. I'm enjoying it but its hard going, a bit like a mutton curry tastes great but you have to give a good old chew!I'm trying to think how it can possibly end. We've all seen the 'Taken' method of dealing with these paedo-kidnapper-baddies but obviously not going to happen here.

Same here.In last night's episode it was ages before I realised that the sweet young primary English teacher was the same person as the vile Romanian junkie!

Yes, it was filmed in Huy, Walloon area of Belgium. I lived there for 2yrs up until last feb. To plagiarise In Bruges.... its a sthole!!I'm quite enjoying this, other than having to pay attention quite a bit more than I've been used to recently. Though that's a good thing I think.
Weird to see the french flags all over the square during the "world cup"

I noticed early on in last night's episode the British cop/new husband going up to the journalist in what looked like a taxi queue outside St Pancras. Just off the Eurostar, presumably. Except it didn't go in to St Pancras until 2007, yet that bit was supposed to be from 2006.
Last week there was a Volkswagen Tiguan in the background of a 2006 scene - it didn't come out till 2007.CarlT said:

I'm always doing that. Saw a film the other day when the two main characters were sitting in a diner by the window. It was dark and raining outside and it was supposed to be NYC in the early 90s.A few yellow cabs came by, the real deal early 90s Ford Crown Vics aero look. They look like Ford Sierras on steroids. But then some late 90s and up to 2011 Crown Vics came by with a few of the latest Ford Escape Hybrids in the mix. Tut tut!
