^ Yeah, well, apart from that, name me another dozen or so and I may concede the point.

After entralling me for seven weeks the ending, or rather how they got to it, was a bit of a disappointment to me.

Arriving in the exact Swiss town and happening to go to the same cafe, be served by the same waiter who met Sophie once, who happens to catch a glimpse of her on Baptiste's phone, which then leads them to the cabin - coincidental or what? It felt like they knew they had to wrap up lots of loose ends in an hour so rushed through it to get them into the woods, completely implausibly. I know it's drama and all that but, given how it was otherwise so tremendously well written I felt they'd run out of ideas on the key point of it, tracking Gettrick down.

Roll on Series 3 though, I have no complaints with the licence fee when the Beeb produces quality like this.
I agree, the coincidence at the cafe has taken a bit of the gloss off it for me, even if they had just been sitting there with a few photographs/leaflets on the table it would've been more credible that the actual waiter spotting the photo on Bapiste's phone. I will let it go though as it has been cracking telly on these long, cold winter nights!
Same here. It's as though the writers went through the story so far, realised all the loose ends and addressed them all in this last episode. I still can't believe Sam didn't realise the first girl wasn't his daughter. I felt a bit let down to be honest. I'm looking forward to the new drama on ITV Wednesday - In Plain Sight.

Nor me, especially when they showed the video of younger Sophie doing the thing with her fingers, and it was obviously the girl who had come back, not Alice.

Bloke walking past Gettricks house walking a dog looking suspiciously at the house was a bit of a red herring, as well.

Aren't red herrings, false starts, additional characters and a little story telling the point of dramas like this?

They'd be a bit pointless being an hour long and only having one bloke in a prison cell being charged.

yeah it was a great series. Very minor things like the waiter seeing the phone rather than seeing flyers on a table etc - can you imagine trying to get everything right on a series like this? It's probably a monumental task to get it as good as it is.

Baptiste makes it though. Also I liked the fat guy in Iraq.

In one of the episodes when Sam was talking to the psychotherapist he said he wanted to go back to full time duties and not desk job work. The doc said he cannot yet due to the incident which was "a cry for help".

What had Sam done?

I'm just glad it's over. Probably 2 episodes too many. I shan't bother with S3 should there be one.

The crashed landrover where he covered for his son?

the Fritzl house
His house is odd - crazy extensions (any permissions) then pretty much the whole garden under cover, we now know why but look at the house next door looks much nicer and a lovely garden

You have to think that right now there are many individuals doing fritzels right now.
