Jurassic World

New trailer for the Superbowl. The 'SeaWorld' dino and a few others got a CGI upgrade (see earlier about the GOTG trailer differences).

I realise there's not much new there but I think this just shifted to the top of Most Excited List, Avengers 2 will have to settle for #2. I almost forgot what a huge JP/Dino fanboy I am.
I love the idea they're running for this, Malcolm is always right in the end!

Still not sure about trained Raptors, but very excited nonetheless.
The burglary rate in the UK would drop significantly if there was a sign on the gate with a picture of a raptor saying "I live here"The trailer scene with the trained raptors flanking the trainer bloke sent a shiver up my back and made me fell like I was 9 years old. Brilliant!

Interesting that the raptor "design" as it were is much more JP1 than JP2/3, none of the adding feathers and colour nonsense that they added later. I wonder if that's to be a reference to the difference between Nubular and Sorna raptors and where the DNA came from?
It's been known for years that dinosaurs had feathers and almost certainly had bright colours (considering pretty much all animals do - including lizards ). Paleontologists have figured out a lot about dinosaurs since Jurassic Park so this would have been a great opportunity to update them based on the most recent understanding. But, again, that would require imagination and bravery and this is Hollywood.

I liked the earlier trailer-this one I feel like I've seen all the best bits of the film. Seem to be the norm for a lot of studios these days. I'll still go to the cinema to see it.Timbergiant said:
Very much looking forward to this, it was my most anticipated film until I saw the Star Wars trailer, friendly raptors aside I'm still happy with the idea of the movie.
I think there are some pretty big clues in that trailer that by the end of the movie those raptors might not be quite so friendly!Seriously, I'm geeking out way more over this than Star Wars, must an age thing!

When they were casting, they considered Jason Statham for the part Chris Pratt got. Hmmm, Jason Statham: Dinosaur Trainer .

I have to echo what some other posters have said. I loved the first JP but this is getting a bit repetitive now. How many times can you tell the same story, only with bigger dinosaurs? How many times can Injen get away with making the same silly mistake? Imagine a zoo which allowed a lion to escape and injure someone, let alone kill dozens of people? They would have been shut down by the H&S lot a long time ago. I know it's only a film but this is stretching things a bit too far.
I'd have preferred if they took it in a different direction. The government shuts Injen down but secretly carries on research into tinkering with dino dna giving a much more plausible explanation for an intelligent hybrid dino and trained raptors. Also get away from the theme park idea, that has been done to death, literally.
I also read the stuff about how JP is still unmatched in a lot of occasions by modern CGI but it sounds like poor excuses to me. Yes the CGI is a lot more complicated with a lot more of it these days but computing power has gone up literally a hundred fold since JP was released in 1993. The software and various techniques to generate different textures etc must have also improved considerably during that time so I'm not really buying it I'm afraid.
