the plot had more holes than a tramps vest but we are watching a film with dinosaurs in a theme park, 6.5/10, 9/10 if you're a lot younger

Just got back from watching this with the missus. I went in having seen only good reviews really but still expects to be dissapointed, basically being a reboot of an early 90s film.

Expectations utterly destroyed! Loved just about every minute of it. Fast paced, intense, emotional.. Couldn't really ask for more and then the final 10 mins happened. Wow!

I mean, yes, ts far fetched, just like the original and there were a few daft bits but it all worked rally well together and made a really enjoyable film.

Anyone else almost find t-rex comical? He came out of his cage looking like a dopey old dog "oooh look, a light" xD

9/10

Watched this tonight as well, absolutely loved it. Thought 3D IMAX did it justice also. Lots of genuinely tense moments and I dont think any of the effects looked ropey.

Some daft bits that the film didnt really benefit from but overall Id definitely go and see it again.

Saw it last night - was ok actually.

I did like one small geeky snippet:

The movie has come in for some criticism as knowledge of dinosaurs has changed in the past 20 odd years since the first one came out. It is now known that a large number of dinosaurs (including raptors) had feathers - yet the ones in Jurassic World still follow the traditional image of dinosaurs. During one scene however the Chinese scientist described how they have always used gene splicing technology to create the 'dinosaurs', mixing their genes with that of amphibians etc - and as such they look quite different to how real dinosaurs would look. Thought that was a neat little get out of jail free card.

I pondered this early on.

But I suspect getting lunched on by a giant chicken would raise a few laughs rather than a few screams. Albeit it a chicken from your nightmares

I commented on that a few days ago. Really liked that one wee line. You instantly went, ah ok I feel better now. What I cant understand is why ingen is still running. Just how many people have they killed. Actually it's still less than the Qatar world cup.

Went with the OH Saturday night, thought it was pretty good and enjoyable. There's a lot more deaths than previously, both human and dinosaur. Some quite funny moments too.

Was good to see a dino fight at the end, but Blue coming back in slow mo, made me laugh and ruined it a little bit. Seems they have kind of wanted to personify the dino's into goody's and baddies.

I knew what the secret genes were as soon as I saw the big Dino.

Strange how it took the expert most of the film to work it out biggrin

Saw it on Saturday, great entertainment. Not quite as good as the first, but huge fun all the same. The two hours flew by.

Saw it on Saturday and thought it was very good.

My missus was most annoyed that the little lads matches worked and his hair was dry so soon after getting wet! hehe

Finally got around to seeing this after carefully avoiding this thread for weeks.

Got to put this out there, original JP is my number one film, always has been, always will be.

Needless to say, I was worried and excited about this one.

Luckily the only critisism I can make is that I wished I watched few trailers, gave a bit too much away for my liking but couldn't avoid them.

People have some odd critisisms though reading online though? High heels? Product placement? A lack of T-Rex? Really? How odd.

My favourite bit was Rexy smashing through the Spinosaurus skeleton, fk you JP3!

Saw it last night. I laughed hard out loud when the Mosasaurus popped up to scoff the Unobtainius Rex.

Well I thought it was a bit rubbish. The original had be properly terrified as a little tacker but this was just comical.
I found myself laughing in all the wrong places at just how bad it was. Needless to say I still enjoyed it and I do find the majority of films I see rubbish.

You're 22 years older, I would hope you didn't find it terrifying!

Saw it Saturday with the family and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not as good as the original, but no surprise there.

Gave me exactly what I'd hoped for in a big summer blockbuster and was fun enough that I'm more than willing to overlook some ridiculous plot holes. For me anyone overanalysing this kind of film needs to get back in touch with there inner child. smile

A much better monster film than last years Godzilla IMHO.
