Apologies if there is already a thread about it but I did a search and couldn't find anything!

Jurassic Park is one of my all time favourite films and I personally am very excited to see how Jurassic World compares. Set 20 years after the first film, Isla Nublar is now a fully functioning Dinosaur based theme park.

The official trailer is released on Friday but Universal have literally within the last hour released this teaser.

There's definitely a thread somewhere but hey ho.

I'm nearly as excited about this as I am excited about Avengers 2.

It's a great premise and the next logical step in the story, I'll be very interested in that trailer because some of the CGI in that teaser looks decidedly squiffy!

Haven't watched the trailer but I'm willing to bet there's ooh-ing and ah-ing, followed by running and screaming.

I'll no doubt love it, but based on this teaser and nothing else I'm gonna go out on a limb and say whilst it might be sold as a sequel, I bet it's more like a roboot with 21st century CGI wink

I loved the first one, simply one of the all time greats. It really was wow moment seeing it as a kid for the first time.

Then came the other two, my God these were st. What I want to know is how Hammond was still at large. I mean he brings Dinosaurs back to life, these kill many, many people, his own family nearly died for fksake, he was getting sued for millions after the first worker died. How did this man get away with it!?

Anyway, it will be st. Looks like they have "controlled" the Dinosaurs environment, built a fk off hotel and have it all running like clockwork.

I expect many, many people will be eaten by Dinosaurs gorging themselves on humans who just didn't learn not to go back God dammit.

the plot.

they go to the park
they have a great time
something goes wrong
dinosaurs escape
people get eaten
the 4 or 5 strong cast become trapped on the island
they need to find a way out
they spend the next hour doing so
they get away, possibly with one being eaten
they vow never to go back
they nuke the fking thing so we don't have a 5th film.

I think they're going to shock us by having a happy film where nothing goes wrong.

Who knows, they might even try to woo Star Wars fans by feeding Jar Jar fking Binks to a pack of raptors.

Absolutely the best line in all three films. As JP2 is on ITV most weekends i am really good at watching the 10 minutes up to that line and then turning over to something else.

Hopefully they get this one right, to many of the recent re-boots have been rubbish, it must be remembered that JP was a PG and lots of kids went to see it on their own and it was bloody scary for them.
It can't be sanitised it needs to make you fear the Raptors.

ETA, it is worth typing "was Jurassic park" into google for one of the auto-complete options. hehe

"It's called a High Tide, it keeps you up high, away from the dinosaurs."
"Actually it puts you at a very convinent biting height!"

Ian Malcolm is a bit of a JP Leg. And for the record JP2 is alright, I'll give you JP3 being rubbish.

If you've read any of the suspected spoilers you're actually not far off....although D-Rex vs Team Raptor might be more appropriate.....

I hope there is a mention of Sir Richard Attenborough's character in the film.

Did anyone else notice that in the Lost World it's actually the "good guy" environmentalists who do far more damage? They steal the baby T-Rex, free captive animals to run amok and get loads of people killed. 3 was an ok chase movie, but utterly forgettable aside from the talking raptor dream and the bit with the ring tone

That's the same for me as well.

I remember when the first one came out and I was taken to the cinema by my mum, I had the choice of seeing either Jurassic Park, or Super Mario Brothers, thankfully I made the right choice, even watching it after all these years it's still a great film.

As a result I'll almost certainly go and see this one, and, as with the subsequent Jurassic Park films I'll expect a lot, and no doubt be disappointed that it gets nowhere near the high standards the first film set.

that's sadly what ruined the film for me.

I mean i'm sorry but who the fk goes to an island to "help" dinosaurs.

There is no way in hell you would go near a baby T-Rex or any injured dino for that sake.

Another thing that bothered me was the sheer lack of any knowledge of the animals they were there to see/help/capture.

I mean seriously, who didn't know from the first film not to move when they see a T-Rex.

I remember going to see the 3rd film in the cinema, and the looks from people when the phone first rang was brilliant. I think some people initially were expecting to hear. HALLO, NO IM IN THE CINEMA sort of like trigger happy tv.

Second film; when they arrive on the island everyone gasps at the sight of the dinosaurs and Ian Malcolm (Goldblum's character) says something like "that's how it starts, with ooh-ing and aah-ing, but later there's running, and screaming."
