I enjoyed more due to the lack of stupidity, that's when it becomes too predictable

Special not all that special so far, some crap map reading and two excellent cars....

About these pictures and a Twitter row?
Clarkson posted a pic of his daughter. Pissed up bloke had a pop. Later apologised. The end.

The Lotus appears to have different alloys in the next instalment?
Looks like they had a chance to modify them and make them better for snow/off-road (they did similar in the Middle-East special).

I see that the moaners are out.

Generally, I liked that. Hammond being in charge was the weak link though, it was better before and after that bit.

The whole number plate thing didn't kick off until part way through their drive, so it hasn't happened yet has it? rolleyes

I'm impressed with how well the Esprit has handled the roads and lack of roads so far.

Clarkson posted a picture of his daughter on Christmas Eve, trolls called her rude names, Clarkson took offence at one troll in particular apparently.

More interesting than tonights show! ;-)

It's not a case of "the moaners are out", as I said previous specials as mentioned have been brilliant but just becausese it's top gear doing an extended show in a foreign location does not make it brilliant. There is nothing in this. I'm moaning because it's not a patch on the others and because I wanted more than the number plate fuss...

Agreed - not that special so far. Just trying too hard to be falsely interesting 'ooh look, we're in a swamp'. 'Ooh look, there's a cow on the roof' (again).

Much better when it was done for real.

(And that from a 'fanbio', before I get accused of being a 'hater').

Will be watching part two though, looks like it gets a bit more real then!

I normally enjoy TG, I'm not one of those who only watches it to moan about it, but that was pretty dull and fairly predictable. Let's hope part 2 is better.

I enjoyed it, even it was mainly because of the very nice cars and stunning scenery and not the story line..

It was alright. Just seemed to be going through the motions for me though.

From what I saw this evening, it seems footage for a single one hour programme (or one and a half hours) has been edited into two episodes of one hour each. That was disappointing, repetitive, dull and predictable.

Same here.

As soon as I found out that it was one of the cars being used I feared for it in terms of reliability etc. Been pleasantly surprised though, and I'm rooting for it to not break down at all and be the most reliable of the three.

Not the best TG special, but great scenery (when not raining), three interesting cars and the usual bickering made an entertaining hour. The Mrs laughed and I winced when the cars ground out.

Utterly tedious and depressing to think it's nearly 20 years since I went to Bariloche. I tried to teach my wife to ski by taking her to the top of a "slope" and just telling her to head down. Somehow I managed to overtake her half way down and stop her.

On a more positive note, am I the only one looking at Esprit values? They seem good value compared with my usual car pron but I am guessing there's a reason for that?

A few laughs - but nowhere near their USA special peak IMO.

Clarkson: "Is the bridge straight"
Hammond: "yes it is........."

Always loved the Esprit - glad to see it in action.

As a former Esprit owner, I enjoyed watching that just to see how well it coped, which it seems to have managed very well.

Still the best thing on TV over Christmas.
