"Can't be visited in safety". Are you for real? I strongly recommend you use a source other than clarkeson for tourist tips, you may learn something
such as they hate the British for instance or are they just misunderstood. You know it's politicians who start wars, not people. The people of Argentina, Iraq, North Korea, Germany, Russia etc are just like you and me. Occasionally they may get fed duff information by their governments or media which portrays anti-British sentiment but it's just political propaganda.

Err, I stumbled across this tonight whilst eating dinner. Two questions:
How long has this new series been on for? And where can I watch the ones I've missed?
Many thanks
Cad
New series is properly starting on 25th January. Rumoured 13 episodes. There's a thread already running. How long has this new series been on for? And where can I watch the ones I've missed?
Many thanks
Cad

Difference is a "normal" car suffers waaaaay more damage and is largely fit for scrap after attempting a journey a 4x4/off roader could tackle with ease.
Notice how they had approximately ten support crew per star car, a large percentage of which will have been dedicated to nursing the cars through.
3 Vehicle Technicians were credited at the end, presumably responsible for looking after all crew vehicles, not just the star cars.Notice how they had approximately ten support crew per star car, a large percentage of which will have been dedicated to nursing the cars through.
It's quite likely they had three complete camera, minicam and sound teams with them plus extra crew to look after all the camera equipment and data. Add in the other members of the production crew (producers, director, etc), local fixers and other ancillary crew making sure everyone is getting fed, knows where they're sleeping and generally keeping the show on the road so to speak.
I still enjoy the specials, but there aren't as many genuinely good bits as some of the early ones. Just seems like the presenters aren't enjoying it much anymore, so it's more forced.
Do they use cars that are beyond repair & restoration? Seems a bit sad for car enthusiasts to set up challenges and "modifications" designed to trash what look like serviceable classic cars.

The cars in the recent Patagonia special must have been fairly good. Do they use cars that are beyond repair & restoration? Seems a bit sad for car enthusiasts to set up challenges and "modifications" designed to trash what look like serviceable classic cars.

Don't think its been mentioned on this thread- apologies if it has- but pretty sure that there was a red engine management light illunuminated on the Porsche well before the electrics packed up and JC started soldering
I'm not familiar with the layout of the lights on the dash, but I saw it as well. My engine management light is yellow. Does it go red when things get too bad?[edit]I've just googled "Porsche 928 dash" and I think it was the low voltage warning light.[/edit]

Girlfriend watched it yesterday to see what the fuss was about, she found it most amusing that whilst they were hiding in the hotel, terrified to move as they watched events unfolding outside, they still found time to crack open a bottle of rosé.
The rosé being in shot was purely coincidental. The crew weren't the ones drinking it, it was probably the previous occupants. Apparently this fact was only made known to Clarkson after filming finished.Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
