Yes that film came out 35 years ago. A bunch of artists have made new posters for the film, some of them are really good stuff.

40th anniversary now. There's series of 7 shorts based on the Alien Isolation game cutscenes https://youtu.be/Wafu9S8Mjas
... and they're releasing a series of short films based around the Alien universe, leading up to April 26th. There are 2 so far.

If anyone can find a link to the high school/college play of Alien that's been done recently and got Ridley Scott and Sigourney Weaver congratulating them on it, can they post the video here? (If there is a video of it) https://edition.cnn.com/2019/03/25/entertainment/a...

Looks like you are a bit of a fan of the movie.

Personally, prefer Aliens myself but I need to re-watch Alien to see if my opinion of it has changed as haven't seen it for well over a decade.

Do you have this book: Alien Vault: The Definitive Story Behind the Film. Wish I'd bought a copy at the time of release as it's meant to be a decent book.

Also, stumbled across this new book which is due later this year, probably to tie in with the 40 year anniversary - the author has done some decent Star Wars books so I'd imagine this will be to a similar high standard.

Love those posters
Saw this at the cinema for the 40th Anniversary, having been too young the first time round. It was brilliant.
In the last 18 months or so my local Cineworld has shown me Predator, Jurassic Park, They Live, Escape from New York and now Alien.
Now I need The Thing, Terminator 1 and 2 and Aliens and I will be a happy man.

Leaves a sour taste sometimes coming out of some of the modern films...

Been meaning to watch these shorts.

I love the Alien trilogy. Bought the remastered HD triology box set a year or so ago. Looks amazing. Alien and Aliens are visually stunning and Alien 3 had alot of its audio redone where they got the original cast back in to the recording studio.

Definitely need some art for the house though.

They did a 40th Anniversary screening a few months back across the country. I went to mu local Odeon (it was packed), it looked utterly superb on the big screen and the audio was incredible.

I've watched it many, many times but it was the first time since I was a kid that I felt genuinely tense watching it again.

I saw all of those at the cinema when they were released. I feel very very old.

Brilliant films (1 & 2), worth celebrating.

It must be cool to be the creator of something like this and look back and think, "I did that".
4 made 3 look better. And the recent crap made 4 look decent. 2 the best imo.
