i find MBB quite enjoyable, daft and simple yes but sometimes after a long hard slog of a day thats all you need.

if you look up viewing figures it would appear BBC are on to a winner. 9.4 million last years christmas day.

Is PH the final home of the 'Chav' insult?

I don't like either of them, but I don't judge people who do, but then I don't think the world/BBC is run purely for my entertainment.

I cannot in my wildest moments imagine how anybody managed to sell the concept of MBB to the BBC in any shape whatsoever, let alone with a prime slot on BBC1. What were the lot of them thinking? And does anyone know anybody with an IQ higher then 1 who actually enjoys it and/or finds it funny?
My father is a chartered engineer yet finds this tripe hysterical. In all other ways he appears sane!

Hear hear, here's an idea, if you don't like something, in the words of the kids TV program, "why don't you switch off the TV and go and do something less boring instead!" wink

I watch them both and like them. The key is not expecting anything more than the occasional gag or joke.

Wasn't it "Why don't you switch off the TV and go do something more interesting instead?"?

Sorry - Pedant alert biggrin

Merry Christmas and enjoy the MBB/CK Christmas specials!

I rather hate both, but surely both ARE parodies in a way (the same way Miranda is) or, if not a parody, a 'homage' to 70s sit-coms.

As for 'brilliant make up' CK's is pretty good, but Mrs Brown looks pretty much the same in both photos to me!

Never seen Citizen Khan so can't comment but visited my brother last night and they watched Mrs Browns Boys. First time I've seen it. Embarrassingly unfunny.

And I bet something like the QI Xmas special, something actually funny and interesting, had paltry figures.

Sign of the times unfortunately.

Also, maybe without commissioning this slop they could have afforded to continue with our coverage of F1?
