18 months without a TV has brought me loads of extra time and loads of insights. I've had more time to watch DRIVE and other automotive yum, like Jay Leno's Garage. Yes, the old iMac is running overtime.

Last few weeks I dived into the world of short animations: and what treasures I've found.

I've made a list and here's one: Big Buck Bunny.

Feel free to post more great stuff. Hope you like it.

147 months and still you thought the best place was General Gassing hehe

It was an entertaining way to procrastinate for 10 minutes though.

I've got a folder full of these from Vimeo

Salesman Pete: http://vimeo.com/15126262 Very silly
Nuit Blanche: http://vimeo.com/9078364 Rather more serious
Thought of You: http://vimeo.com/14803194 A lovely little animation
Blackwater Gospel: http://vimeo.com/17914974 Rather dark
Notes on Biology: http://vimeo.com/21119709: Silly, Short
8 Bits: http://vimeo.com/15021852: Video Game based, quite cleverly done
Le Royaume: http://vimeo.com/13810139: The King and the Beaver smile
Paths of Hate: http://www.platigeshorts.com/paths-of-hate.html Some of the best animation I've ever seen, not sure about the end bit
Alma: http://vimeo.com/4749536: Slightly creepy.

Sorry for doing a dump of a lot of links, but I love all of these!!

My son did this as his graduation film, and then the producers of Paranormal Activity found it online and used it on DVD/BluRay releases of their film. (With his permission, of course).

Here's his showreel - I guess he should update it, really.

Since then, he's worked on Iain Gardiner's BAFTA-nominated animation The Tannery for Channel 4, and on Johanna Wagner's BAFTA-winning animation, "The Inner Shape".

The first two are different - just the opening frames of the showreel are from Pigment Of Imagination.

I cocked up the link for the third one but I've fixed that now.

I can't fine The Tannery online - seems C4 are protecting it.
http://www.channel4.com/programmes/4mations/episod...

And I've been reminded that he also created animations for a stage show featuring Abi Titmuss. And did he get his dad a ticket? Did he heck!

Holy thread resurrection!

Years ago I remember seeing an animation of a kid in his room who sees lights. He investigates to find an alien - initial shock is soon replaced by a bond and followed by them rolling a ball to each other. Think it was on eBaum's World (someone posted the website in another thread - didn't know it was still going), possibly called "in my room" (or house?) anyone have any idea?

Not the busiest thread ever, but I found the video I was on about. No as good as I remembered, but was 15 years ago!
